Thanks, we met a couple of runners from the UK on this trip. come to thinks of it, we often meet some of your countrymen on our trips. What an adventurous lot you are.
That lake at the end looked incredible. Beautiful views. I train with a similar approach: 4 runs a week. 2 gentle (normally 2 miles), 1 long run (but still gentle pace) and then 1 fast run or intervals. With 2 strength sessions a week too, I'm hoping to avoid injuries
Hey Hemp, Training for a long race takes a lot of time. My bucket list is a mile long and I want to experience as much as I can while I'm healthy enough to enjoy it. I'll continue running as long as I'm able, however, just shorter distances.
You live in a beautiful place :) you are going to rock that half marathon ( and I will be trying my first pull up by then and my 5 km run). Thanks for sharing.
Wes I feel like I just got to go on a run with you. So cool! I love that Boston marathon story! I would also make way for some kooky old man yelling a speech in old English :) the heart rate thing is cool too. Maybe I should figure mine out, maybe I dislike running cause I’m trying too hard. A girl can hope I guess- I don’t have the love for it that you do but I wish I did! Great vid! Keep it up!
Tab, I hereby challenge you to run just one block, as slow as you'd like, wave or say hi to any cars you pass or neighbors you meet, stop and talk if possible, then do it again the next day. You'll feel great and start looking forward to those runs. Plus everyone in the neighborhood will start waving back and cheering you on. Just like that you'll be a runner. But DO NOT take rides from anyone offering you candy.
It’s cool to hear about your wildlife encounters while running! The bear would’ve really freaked me out. You’re way tougher than me when it comes to the cold, let alone running in it. Keep it up!! Think of spring and the fun running that will bring! :)
I find this truly inspiring in all aspects of aging. Keeping the body and mind sharp like that deserves a league of its own. Running a half marathon at 78 is an incredible goal. Keep on telling your story and best wishes from Germany.
I challenge you to keep at it and send me another comment when you do one. We have 4 1/2 months to go in this video series. I'll be watching for your break through message. Hang in there.... no, no I meant chin up.
Great stuff! I'll be rooting for you. I'm only 52, but recovering from a knee injury and discovering the importance of warming up, strength training, and mobility drills. Can't just put on my shoes and go out the door everyday.
Thanks. These videos help motivate me but I'm trying to make them interesting and engaging and it's really encouraging when someone takes the time to comment.
@@WesRutt It's always nice to say hi to someone somewhere in our world:) I like that you kept doing pull ups and push ups, it seems like you are keeping a much better balance than most people of all ages. I do too by the way, but half marathon is a little too long for my lliking, I go for shorter and faster! Greetings from Switzerland
Woohoo!! I am so excited for you! Good luck with the training and I hope the changing weather will treat you and your motivation well over the next 5 months. I’m looking forward to the next video! ps I can’t believe you used to count miles by your cars odometer- how inventive!
My Muse! How fitting that you provide my first encouraging comment. Some days I'm not sure that I can do this. But after seeing your comment, today I'm running! Woohoo!
I really need some motivation. Please hit the like button, subscribe and leave a comment telling me something about yourself and how you found this video. Thanks, Wes

I've a new HD 8. It doesn't show on the bottom that Zoom has downloaded (although one knows it has been downloaded because, at the top, the dashing download arrow stopped), and doesn't have the word "OPEN". So, I went to the Home Screen, clicked on the Files app, found the file, and proceeded. Now I've the Zoom app, thanks.
