This bag making channel is for those who love to create, make beautiful bags and love a challenge. In other words, Fearless Bag Makers. My name is Unni Marie Berg and I'm a Norwegian. I have been living in the Bahamas for the last 13 years. I live on Great Guana Cay in Abaco, a small island in The Bahamas that was hit very hard by hurricane Dorian and is still recovering. Many days we don't have power or Internet, even though it is almost two years since the hurricane. I think Bahamian history is fascinating, even though it is short, with piracy as one of the elements. Back in those days women were "owned" by their fathers, brothers or husbands, so becoming a pirate was one of the few ways a woman could be free. As a female pirate you had to be braver and more fearless than the men. So, I name all my bags after famous female pirates from all over the world. I hope you will enjoy watching my free tutorials, and that you get inspired to create something truly unique and beautiful.
I just bought your pattern and I LOVE the colors that you use for fabrics. It makes it so easy to cut them out. Thank you so much. I'm in the cutting stages and now I'm ready to sew. Can't wait!!! You're a genius!
@@AnneBonneyBags I love bag making and I've tried couple of tote fabric bags, I agree with your teaching. I live in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and it's very hard to find the right tools and accessories. Never done online shopping and not quite confident to do right now. Planning to travel overseas soon, would you recommend a good place to do my shopping? Thanks.. looking forward
Thank you. I've made small totes and bags, nothing complicated. I would love to make small cross body bags for sale as people now have so many gadgets to carry. I am always looking for my phone and air pods in my purse. I am going to practice on myself and see what I can come up with. Very informative video. Thanks!
I was making a roll-top backpack and the outside zipper pocket pattern did not have a proper lining - it just opened to the exterior bag material itself. This is the tutorial I needed to make a proper outside zipper pocket. Thank you!
Excellent video to help us beginner bag-makers. I believe you covered everything in the one video. I especially liked that you separated these tools into what's necessary and what want to have. Your comment about the seam ripper made me laugh so hard, I had to stop the video. I have that kind of relationship with mine.. lol (hopefully I'll improve).
I am a big fan of yours❤️.sister I am studying for my degree and I am interested in bag making and leather work. Can you give me some advice with your long experience, is this field profitable? Can I get rich using this field? I want to start my own brand is this good field or not?.I want valuable opinion from you😇
Thank you for watching my videos... Honestly, unless you become the next famous bag designer with some great new innovative design that every woman wants, you won't get rich. Not by doing crafts and making things. Material is so expensive, hardware is expensive, and getting paid for all your time is hard. So rich? No. Far from it. I am making patterns and am selling them on Etsy and my own website. I am making $100 a month on those. I live in the Bahamas, and RU-vid doesn't consider The Bahamas to be a country worth monetizing, so I never get paid for any views on my videos. I think you need views in the millions to make good money from RU-vid anyway...But keep looking! You might come up with something brilliant. Never give up!
What specific thread is it ,,you sent thread company but need to know which specific one it is Thank you again for sharing your videos, I’m throughly enjoying them
Hi Yonette. Sorry about that. I am sending it to you directly. Did you take a look in your spam folder for the download email there? These things go out automatically, so you should have gotten it. Please check your email now.
Make them as wide as your zipper and as long as you would like them. If you want them as small as possible so the opening is as large as possible, cut them 1 inch if you use corc or vinyl, and 2 inches if you use fabric that you fold in at the edges. Good luck!
@techicfactory8710 Mesure on yourself with a measuring tape to see where you want the bag to hang, add 18 inches, and there you go. I often make mine 70 inches, all altogether. Good luck!
