Penang is a beautiful place. I was there in last 80s. 2 years l have seen & driven around the whole island. Recently l was there at Golden Sands Hotel. 1 nite only. The whole island is OVER develop. I don't think l want to return. Down south is quieter & not clustered like Penang island. Very congested & youth are running all over the place as though there is no end of the day.

Just stayed in VE Hotel and Residence in Bangsar South. Guess it is almost the same concept. One of the problem in this kind of place is that you may not have neighbor as you always have stranger checking in and checking out of the hotel. Hopefully they don't turn the residence area into home stay or hotel apartment (which exactly happened in VE Hotel and Residence as I rented a 2 bed rooms apartment in the residence floor).
