Just completed a small section of rock removal in front of my house and honestly it was one of the hardest DIY landscaping projects I have ever done. One section down, and about 5 more to go!
I started today digging out rocks. It's hard work!! So I'm also searching for an easier way 😂. It has to get done because i decided to give my son a graduation/ birthday party in July. I have 10 weeks to do the path to the backyard and fix the patio. I want to make a concrete mold path. Wish me luck!!! I will say I found a hoe with the spikes on the other side and that was very good at digging out the impacted rocks.
my entire back yard is filled with this (fabric with pea gravel) and I want to remove it all.. Got any suggestions for the right tool for the job? doing it by hand is proving impossible for me.
Just wonder if keeping thuja emerald green short would be OK for the long term? Seems their normal mature height is 15 feet. Some say topping them too much or trying to keep them small would harm them. I’m very concerned because I’ve got a line of this tree planted right in front of my house as foundation plant so I cannot allow them to grow to more than 5 feet tall.
Nice video! How were you able to dispose the dyed mulch? I am looking to do the same thing but seems like a lot of places won’t accept unless if you put it in yard waste bags to be picked up by trash companies
Most DIY videos tell you to put down landscape fabric. And most professionals do as well.. The reason is because it gives you great results the first season. but long term its a horrible choice, id rather deal with weeds then have to do this labor every 5 years.
@@ZupE891 I've changed my opinion about landscape fabric. I would not put it under mulch, But it is essential to put it under rocks. If you have a high quality fabric and keep your rocks clean, you should have good results.
@@7kardia750 Why would it be essential under rock? I put rocks around my foundation and under my deck with no fabric, and it's fine. did 4inch deep, yet to see a weed pop up, when it does I can easily spray or pull it.
Finally found the video I am needed. Planning on pulling up landscaping rocks and putting down a new woven landscaping fabric. Deep down I knew what the answer was going to be on removing the rocks. Haha but always glad to see it in action! Motivation
but wait was it ford that rip ya off or the dealer. it take 15min to pull the dash then 3min to remove the cover then 10 to 20min to wash the condenser off and only needs changed if leaking even then there 2 A-hole bolts behind engine ya need a ratchet wrench for about 15min each then 4 more bolts 2 in cab 2 out and 4 quick release lines the and the air filter box and recharge the a/c takes me 2hr to replace and 1hr to clean heater core and condenser. but I do agree there should be a filter in them for god sake there a work truck. thanks for sharing
We bought a house without thinking about all the darn lava rocks. We keep saying we r going to get rid of them here we are 5 yrs later and still just slowly shoveling them out. I imagine these dudes make alot of money because this job is terrible!
Has anyone tried using a tiller to loosen the rocks? I have a deep deep area of white rock and don't look forward to digging it all out with just a shovel.
Yes! It is working for me on smaller rocks in compacted soil. I am using a tiller to loosen it up and now in the process of removing the rocks with the soil. Replacing it with clean topsoil. I'm hoping someone will take the big mound of dirt and rocks when I'm done.
I'll be doing this soon, but after moving 15 yards of dirt and leveling everything manually I don't think it will be that bad for me.. just painfully slow.
I'm not really looking forward to doing this in the rain and mud, but I am hoping that since the ground will be softer, it won't be as hard. One can hope, anyways. 😂
I’ve been fighting landscape fabric and rocks in my front and backyard the past year. I think the first owner did it and the 2nd owner just let the weeds go crazy so it’s landscape fabric, rocks, and grass. I keep thinking there has to be an easier way but looks like y’all are doing the same thing.
I have a 2014 f450. I had the same issue. I'll give you the basics of what I did to resolve that problem. If you open up your glove box. That's where the intake is to recirculate the cabin air. All I did was cotton air filter for a furnace. That fits in the duct properly. Never had an issue since. Depending on how dirty the filter is. I either replace it or just blow it out with an air compressor. I think there's a couple RU-vid videos that go into more detail. It took me maybe a half an hour to figure out how to do it. Filter only cost me about $8.
If you're having a dealership replace the evaporator then no wonder you're spending $1400 a pop! Hot damn, it's a plugged evaporator, remove the blower motor and wash it out! Peterbilts are bad about it too... and they got a cabin filter. It's part of life, especially with a work truck.
I had the same problem with my 05 and 06 F350s. The evaporator on those trucks is encased in a box semi underneath the dash. I had to recover my freon and disconnect the accumulator, then wrestle it out. Mine was so stopped up that I had to soak it submerged in a sink full of degreaser, then hose it out. I try to do all of my own mechanic work if I can.
After started last night removing rock, I was thinking "there has got to be an easier way than what I'm doing". I looked up landscaping rock removal and discovered otherwise.
I'm in the process of hand digging up 2 feet deep rock and sand from the previous owners. They loved rocks because they are everywhere! It's going to be a long summer. Tried a skid steer but it just made it worse. People really need to think before putting in rock or sand and how it will effect the quality of their land/soil. After this, rocks are banned from my property.
I'm here looking too because I just got done removing the rock cleaning the Rock from the dirt and now putting it back and I'm curious if there was an easier way
@@Icantbelievethat420 Going to be doing mine when the weather gets nice.. Did you find a better way? How did you clean it? I've seen videos where people put down a wire mesh to take the stones over to get loose dirt etc but not sure if there is a better way..
I remember all that rain. I was going to kayak the creek but was warned by my friend who lived by the mill at the time. I usually cross right where that tree is in the middle. Probably would've drowned in these conditions.
I'm starting tomorrow, except they at one point laid felt over the rock flower bed made a mulch flower bed, laid felt over the mulch and made a soil flower bed, just layers of flower beds😅😅
Unless they’re legally liable Ford motor company will not honor any of their vehicles! Me and my dad both have F250 6.0‘s and they both had EGR cooler failures after warranty it’s a design flaw and they continues to do this and they continue to make sales regardless if they make it right! quit buying Fords.!
I have an 05 and 06 6.0. Mine were under warranty when the 05 went through 5 EGR coolers and the 06 went through 6 coolers. I ended up installing bulletproof air cooled oil coolers and EGR coolers. I occasionally clean the EGR valves, but it stopped the problem.
me too. I need to do this and avoid removing the landscaped tree's. I am not a fan of this. I think I would rather do landscaped mulch or wood. it's too much to add new plants around it all.
