Wow, the people commenting on this video have a pretty negative outlook on life, so I'll break this video's information down to a Childs point of view for them. I'll will explain it at a Childs learning program level like "Sesame Street" kids show without the sound format. Understand, this is not the West and obviously these people are not wealthy with an abundant number of resources that are available in a well-equipped maintenance shop. These men are using the limited number of resources available to them and performing an exceptional job. This wrecked truck was disassembled, frame was repaired, a serviceable engine was installed, all smaller component parts that were needed were replaced with serviceable parts, and the vehicle was professionally prepped primerred, and painted, and smaller cosmetic parts were finally installed. Bottom line, some people get upset when it's not themselves performing the work. If you can do a better job than these men, start posting your repair work on RU-vid! These men performed an excellent job, period!
These single rear axle trucks will always have accidents because the back of the truck lifts up if the truck BRAKES BEFORE THE TRAILER THEN THE WEIGHT OF THE LOADED TRAILER PUSHES THE TRUCK CAUSING IT TO JACK KNIFE EVERY TIME ITS A COMMON FAULT WITH SINGLE AXLE TRUCKS THAT HOOK UP TO TRALERS MEANT ONLY FOR DOUBLE REAR AXLE TRUCKS
That must have been a hell of an impact. I wonder what happened. I really like the idea of repairing a damaged truck like this. Such a waste to scrap it. But what a job!
So hang on. They have applied.. body filler to the main chassis rails? Im sorry but wtf. Why? It wont last. the rails are designed to flex, thats why they are C channel. For looks? Just use a gap filling paint. That filler is just going to crack off. And repairing C channels on a truck is very concerning. You can bend them back into position with plastic deformation if its not a bad bend, but the heating and hammering? No thanks.
The only reason to put filler on the frame is to sell this as not having been in a wreck. They are hiding the damage to trick a buyer, and are therefore criminals
This truck is an insurance write off and structurally beyond repair. It shouldn't be put back on the roads, despite the unbelievable craftmanship that transformed this wreck into a beauty. It looks nice, but still is a wreck. Just plain irresponsible and dangerous!
