That does work, makes it less noticeable at the expense of FOV. Fine balance go walk. I do that with cinematic videos or sometimes I just fix the zoom entirely if it isn't cropped in too much. last cinematic video didn't stabilize nicely though, runcam things
Agreed. In my country many beaches and islands are prohibited flying zones all year around, due to "bird zons", when you indeed are allowed to sail with boat and do everything in the area. You could go trampling on the birds nest, thats not illegal- unless you target a very specific and protected bird. But a drone? nope illegal. What about flying in most of the streets of our capital? Yes allowed.... Clowns running the country.
Sadly, the political point of view behind FPV has been complex since the start of the war. But Hopefully, it won't affect us as much. We keep seeing new regulations and changes, especially with the DJI bans and whatsoever in the US. In the UK, we're not as affected as yet, but people's mentality around here is the biggest downside. Anyhow, I love FPV and will keep loving it and my biggest heartbreak at this time is the weather and time I (and some of us, we) don't have to put our full undivided attention into this beautiful hobby. Never give up. Keep flying and crashing! That's what we do!
I don't think the war is affecting the image of the hobby too much. Everyone already sort of knew it will be weaponized and the general populous assumed it already was. It is just giving more "reasons" to over regulate it but laws are one thing, enforcement is another. The DJI ban thing would have probably happened even if there wasn't a war that everyone knows about although I'm not really up to date with that story. Time and weather is a big thing for many hobbies, the climate here lets me fly most of the time so I regularly fly daily since I have the time to, unfortunately that means my batteries don't last long
Its too hard to fly and record videos just for yourself living in Ukraine because of restrictions coused of war... By the way - fpv drones literally saves a lot of Ukrainian lives in the battles
I will go to war with my government on my right to fly these drones and if it's ever made illegal to fly, guess I'll be a felon! Fly on brothers and sisters!
I’m using a foxeer reaper extreme rn and honestly it’s pretty underwhelming 😅. It doesn’t handle obstacles very well and I don’t usually fly in just open fields
@DownBadSad They are pretty similar afaik so I'm not sure why you aren't getting good results. The rush tank solo hovers around 2w with cooling and the reaper should a bit higher at 2.5w. Try different freq. R1 will perform better than the rest of race band unless there is another device on R1 where you try flying. what you can do is scan(with your goggles) before powering your quad and use the frequency with the lowest noise level(Assuming it shows you a graph not sure if they all do. if not just experiment a bit). Another big thing is antennas, good quality goes a long way. The power source should also have enough amperage to satisfy the vtx of course.
@@minimaistor I use a tbs triumph 1.0 as my antenna and I run a mamba 405 stack with a 4s battery. The image quality I see on a lot of other peoples goggles just usually looks a lot sharper than mine. I think part of the reason though is because i fly in forested areas usually and I guess the leaves scatter the signal very well, makes it hard to go more than 100 meters out or even less. I haven’t flown around a lot of buildings, might get better results if I give that a try.
@@DownBadSad so for the sharpness part of it, one your camera could just be out of focus or it's not a very nice camera. Personally I use caddx ratel 2. Foxeer also has a real nice camera but I forgot the name. I don't like it when the cameras apply a lot of digital sharpening though, you loose details and it becomes very difficult to see. Forest is brutal for 5.8ghz. Trees have a lot of water in them and it's difficult for it to penetrate. Remember the wavelength is only around 5cm. Just do a test in open air and see what the range looks like.
How is it slowly becoming a crime? The specific laws in the EU which are being put in place are similar to how it's been the UK since 2020 and even then it doesn't stop you from flying at all. Long story short it was legally unregulated before this year regarding european regs. Yes it ultimately controls the use of them, but if you're flying how most of us do with FPV you'll be alright. Loving FPV myself I can't help but notice the MASSIVELY SIGNIFICANT use of FPV drones in modern warfare... They''ve completely changed how modern warfare is conducted, so do you think the EU would sit back and allow the unregulation of something potentially very desctructive in some of the most peaceful and culterally dense countries on the planet? Remember we live in countries you can change policy by voting and with the general public's voice heard when making political decisions. If you want FPV, flying drones/quads to persist be the good guy at your local spot and keep people happy with them. Don't always be the cool guy with a skateboard saying F you. Work with what you got and do it well!
@legurgemaison Realistically nobody here is going to get into trouble I know that, this video honestly wasn't supposed to get more than 50 views in the first place however that doesn't mean I didn't mean what I said. In this video alone there is at least 8 different laws being broken, probably even more. Yes it isn't really enforced and the people(public/strangers) I've spoken to are generally open minded and just see it as a cool toy like we do but the thing is if they did choose to enforce the laws everyone who fly's solo would be screwed. There are already people who are afraid they will be used as an example (ie, get fined or something) and plenty that don't want to get into the hobby because they see the laws on paper and shy away. All this video was meant for is just to get people to get to know the regulations so that they can voice their opinions to keep the hobby from becoming over regulated. I haven't brushed on commercial regulations in my country either and that's what really bothers me but that outside of the scope of this video. I probably wont touch on this topic again on my channel. if you aren't satisfied with my answer you might find a better one in the comment section since you aren't the fist person to ask this question and probably wont be the last
@@minimaistor It's a good opener for the discussion! I hope more people talk about these things so good idea using it for the vid. I'd say your buttery flying got you those views, you have a nice style. Seeming you opened up your flying to the internet, remember, if you fly anywhere legally spicy it was always using a quad >250g for the videos... if you catch my drift. The internet will be more forgiving as oh boy do people like to be correct. thanks for responding too and take it easy ☮
I'm not going to say they are a suggestions but I mean if they make them too difficult to comply with what are you going to do? I for one wont just stop flying.
@@minimaistor yeah, im still flying 5 inch either and im not gonna stop, but it does make me fear that the police will get me and make me pay like 10.000€ wich would destroy my life
If you look through the comments you'll see plenty who agree the laws are getting more and more restrictive for many. In this video every single clip breaks at least one law excluding needing to keep RLOS. This country has bigger problems than some randoms playing with flying carbon fibre though so I'm not stressed.
@@minimaistor I registered my name as a drone pilot in the EU, no issues except near airports and privacy related concerns when the drone has a camera. There are some stricter rules for self built drones, they must have gps modules and don't weigh more than 4 kg. I think rules and laws outside the free world are tougher.
Over here there is no licencing or form of registration for hobbyists your just expected to not break the law ( more realistically to not cause harm) commercial is a different story I don't even want to get into because its basically impossible without a ton of money. I'm in South Africa if you are bored enough to read through the boring regulations
I use a Runcam 5 Orange and stabilised it with gyroflow. Runcam thumb pro is the its replacement. These are both geared towards FPV but the 5 orange can be used for other stuff as well.
Between FAA thinking amazon drones will be the basis of all delivery drones by 2030, and now russia/ukraine fpv videos. Im not suprised they want FPV and DJI banned. 400' and below, free to go❤
For goggles I use Eachine ev300D (they are discontinued, replaced by the ev300o but the digital second hand market has good deals every now and then so that would be a better route) For the TX I use a FrSky Horus X10. (There are good(some arguably better) radios for better prices. )
@@minimaistor Thank you very much for the reply 😃. I'm using dji goggles 2 and a tx16s, and I'm using some of your build for inspiration. At 33:00 what is it that you forgot to screw in there? looks like an antenna or something. (working on my first diy build myself, without much knowledge about FPV DIY, I've built many planes/gliders, so adjacent knowledge)
@Chaos_and_Harmony Yes at 33:00 I did forget to put the antenna on the VTX. Thankfully TBS makes very robust components so it was fine. Anything that transmits needs to have an antenna on else it will quickly damage itself.
