In all honesty, I'm not convinced he's 6-5 in shoes. Traoré has been listed at 6-3 and 6-4 as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see him wind up closer to the latter.
@@orlandoallen5324 I’m covering Brooklyn for Nets On SI this upcoming season, so you might be interested in some of my coverage there once things get underway. I’ll have Nets-related draft content on their website too
What do you think about his fit with the Thunder? They have tons of shooters and now also two good, smart big men to work with, Holmgren and Hartenstein. I know he will miss his first season, but this seems to be a good landing spot for him. They even have an elite shooting coach to help him with his three point shot.
It's solid overall. I feel okay although not great about it, but I trust what OKC does in the draft. I know they're not the same type of player and some Thunder fans don't love this comp, but I kinda see Topic as a beefed up Josh Giddey for OKC's intents and purposes. The shooting is going to be the most important thing - and even that may be somewhat offset if Topic is surrounded with enough outside threats. Not to mention he'll slash to the basket more powerfully than Giddey, so backing off Topic and daring him to attack the rim might not be as useful. Like you pointed out, I like the idea of him with OKC's bigs and expect him to have good synergy with both guys down the line.
@@FloorandCeiling They needed another primary playmaker since both SGA & JDub are great passers too but in honesty they're just secondary while adding in some pieces in iHart then Caruso who can playmake add a bit more as connectors who are their tertiary passers. Their betting to have either one of Topic or Wallace to fill the void that Giddey left since Presti is not just focusing in the present but also planning for the long term future, that's the main reason they took Nikola especially in the Playoffs OKC's passing have dipped severely like the ball stopped moving or got stagnant. The Thunder are banking/investing high to develop a pure playmaker for them going down the road as the contend for a Championships in this up coming years also Nikola Topic wouldn't fall to them if he hadn't got injured before the draft so getting to pick the best talent plus potential available was a good move with how they're familiar handling redshirt rookies with Chet or having Serbians drafted back then in Poku and Micic.
This kid has a lot to work with skill wise. I like how he uses both hands on the dribble and finishing around the rim. Time will tell whether he becomes a consistent shooter or not, but with NBA specialized coaching and hard work he could be really good.
I think Carrington and Furphy are going to need a lot of minutes in the GLeague, both are a long way from being considered NBA players. Buzelis and Sheppard make me curious about how their first NBA year could be. Buzelis could possibly benefit from the addition of Giddey to the Bulls, I think they could be a good fit. And Sheppard seems like a puzzling player to me, he doesn't look like much, but he's effective.
And 3 years later Garuba returns to Real Madrid. His “career” in the NBA can be considered a failure, something that, in my opinion, was quite foreseeable.

Reed Sheppard is athletic he had the highest vertical lead in the 2024 draft. I don't know people keep saying he is unathletic or has athletic deficits. If a 42-inch vertical is not athletic than what is?
The 42 inch vertical isn’t showing up functionally in game. I’m not saying Reed is unathletic. His hand-eye coordination is incredible, so is his timing. But he undoubtedly has limitations in traffic or against length handling and finishing at times, for example
Yeah, he played well but he shot 35.7% from the field as a big (no problem in Summer League). The most noteworthy aspect of Clingan's SL experience imo is that he took 3.2 threes a game and made 3/13. If you've followed FLOOR and CEILING for a while, you'll know just how high I've been on Clingan ever since he got to college.
Good positional size for sure. Should shoot the ball well both off the catch and off the bounce. I actually wanna see him shoot spot-ups at a higher clip.
Liked him as a late second round or UDFA out of Miami last draft. Not really sure where he fits with the Clippers despite being very productive. Same question I have about someone like Jalen Wilson, who was also really good in SL. Role is everything.
He played incredibly well, but only 3 games so that's what kinda tilted it towards some of these other guys. Pound for pound, Da Silva was better than Furphy or Buzelis. He'll be good for Orlando.
Appreciate it as per usual! On Castle, I thought he looked relatively solid in the California Classic. Only played a game in Vegas before his wrist injury unfortunately. It was cool to see the Spurs let him play with the ball in his hands, which didn't happen as much as UConn. I wanna keep seeing more.
I thought Knecht ended up having a decent Summer League, but I didn't really come away super impressed while I was watching the Lakers. As you said, it was a rougher context. No real point guard and sort of an unbalanced roster. Lots of guys were forcing the issue, so it kinda stood out when Knecht, Bronny, or Colin Castleton played in the flow of the offense (something I wish Maxwell Lewis had ended up doing more of). But even then, Knecht shot 34.2% from three and 36.7% from the field (6 games). It's a tiny sample size, so I'm not reading too much into it and I remain high on him (especially for the Lakers) but I expected a bit more.
Memphis in general had a handful of guys who played really well. With Jaylen Wells, I think one of the main concerns was probably how much improvement he has left (started off at Sonoma State in D-2) but he shot the lights out at Washington State. In my final big board, I had him as in the "idealistic but actually shaky potential" range, which was in the mid-to-late second next to guys like Nikola Durisic or Ulrich Chomche.
Philly has the chance to get really high value from Edwards. Had top 5 buzz, including from myself, before his freshman season. There's talent there. Needs to find his NBA role.
