Hi, I’m Emily. Welcome to my Scotland’s Castles channel. Here I will share my photos and videos of Scottish Castles that I’ve visited recently and recommend that you visit too. I love Scotland and Scottish history and also love roaming the length and breadth of this beautiful country finding unusual, mysterious and interesting places to visit. I think Scotland has the most stunning and unique natural beauty in the world and is also steeped in history, drama, folklore and intrigue. If your are a planning a visit to Scotland or exploring Scotland then I hope I can offer you some interesting places that you should definitely put on your list to visit.

That was my local castle when I lived in Dumfries when I was a boy in the early 1960's. I cycled there a few times with friends. I understood it meant fort amongst the rushes or something similar. In the mid sixties I occasionally exercised the dogs of the then current Lady Maxwell for pocket money. Nice video & nice to see the old place again. I have lived in the antipodes now, for several decades. I seem to recall there was some talk of a much earlier Roman fort in the same area.
I didn't know that this channel existed. I just subscribed. I very much like the presentation and the accent is wonderful also. I am half Scotch so this history is important to me.
Greetings from Wisconsin! I loved my visits to caerlaverock. I made a second visit to there with my grandson to show him what a beautiful castle that was. Great historical narrative thank you! I remember as well the delicious snack shop on the premises. Thank you for this video
A beautiful place, a beautiful ruin, a sometime sad, but wonderful history!! Thank you again, Emily. My day has been enhanced, with vivid pictures of glory! Mary. USA
Great video the initials on the lintel is actually FND Florence nicdowall was kennedys 3rd wife nic being daughter off instead of mc for son off I think but yes I believe the original entrance was above the ground level door that would of been accessed by wooden stairs
Why can't it be made into a home? It's ludicrous. You can't gain access anyway It's unsafe. If it was modernised it would still be there in at least some part.
Excellent video , Emily ! Love the way you shoot the castles , and the research you do on them . Keep up the Great work ! Have a great Weekend ! 🏴 / 🇺🇲
