Its taken a while to get to some of these videos. Was very heart warming to see her reaction and her mom as when this run was completed. Have to admit my eyes may have watered up on me. I will always be a fan.
In many cases diesel is better for the environment due to the stricter emission laws. Also it is much more efficient VW made a diesel hybrid that had to have a smaller tank because without it the diesel would have gone bad before it would be used.
@@Thomas-ih2rnBesides, the black soot is carbon that weighs much more than gasses. It falls to the ground and (if there are) plants use it. It’s only bad for your lungs, but it doesn’t travel very far. The problem with diesels is nitrogen oxides.
@@collective-addiction why all the GT4s aftermarket exhausts have so much drone? I still haven’t find one without…I’ve heard that Porsche has set the valves to close under 4k to avoid drone so if you put any aftermarket exhaust (or any part of it) you will get it.
@@fastdays_1 interesting. Iv'e heard the best way to not get drone is only do the over-axle pipes. Ill be honest, it drones with the stock exhaust too. Honestly rather have it be loud and epic and a little more drone than the stock sound with still some drone.
@@collective-addiction I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I subbed because of your e30 videos. I don't expect you to be a full-on repair channel or anything, but I liked your blend of working on car problems combined with your visual/artistic flair. No pressure or anything, but like a handycam video of your e30 would be cool. Doesn't have to be anything huge or crazy. Cheers!
I’ve owned 3 different 718 Spyders/GT4’s so I’m obviously a big fan, but my only criticism is the too tall gearing and the factory exhaust note. I’ve had stock, over axle pipes, and full exhaust and to be totally honest none of them sound amazing. Also, like you experienced there are trade offs with most of them in terms of too much/not enough sound and drone. The factory valves goofy opening and closing at random RPM’s only adds to the problem. To date, the best exhaust setup I’ve heard for these cars was a Kline Inconel exhaust, unfortunately it’s was a nearly $9k unit
You are clearly much more experienced than I am haha, I completely agree with you. It's a shame they don't tune it a little differently. I guess they want you to go for the 911 next, can't make the 718 perfect haha.
Thank you! We wanted to remove the SOUL exhaust to give away a completely stock car, that way if someone doesn't like the louder exhaust they will be happier if they end up winning it...I must say though, after driving it a decent amount with the stock exhaust, this car NEEDS an aftermrket exhaust.
