First the century university apartment is a big joke. There’s s shooting here everyday residents complaining to no avail. If your package gets to you in one piece then you’re lucky. Packages get stolen all the time and management does nothing. Management has just gotten worst. They don’t pick up calls. Corridors unclean, rude management except the technicians are amazing guys. You pay expensive rents and the Clubhouse is $200 for residents. Better go somewhere else. Unfortunately i cant post pictures of community chat.
Yes, I think it was a good idea to get a weekly ticket, especially for first timers - it saves you having to ask every driver "where are you going, how much does it cost" - so, it makes things so much easier.! Don't forget, if you want the same ticket for ALL of the UK - every train-line imaginable, THAT ticket has to be purchased in dollars BEFORE you come over, and you bring it with you. Then you can start right away at the airport.
You are adorable and welcome to NC! Your videos remind me how lucky I am to live in such a great place (we are north by Lake Norman). Hope you are settling in. 😊
Brilliant video Amanda!! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your car? So we can hear how it sounds!! 😀
@@itsagoodlife I visited Charlotte for the first time recently. I was pretty impressed with the layout of the city. I just found your channel on youtube. I like your content....Keep grinding 💪
Moving to Charlotte at the end of this month. 1600 mile drive ahead for me. Looking for a place between South Park and Ballantyne. I can't wait to explore all the greenways. Thanks for your videos!
Nice video. My family moved here just under 2 years ago. We love it, for some of the same reasons as you. Please continue to post updates as you explore and discover new things in the area. We haven’t explored nearly enough and could use the inspiration.
Thank you for these videos! Just got a new job in Charlotte and the apartment search has been stressing me 😅 there’s so many good options and I just want to make the right decision.
did you have to fill out any sort of paperwork to see these apartments? where did you find these apartments? would like to visit charlotte one day, it's one of my fav states i would like to live in one day
I made appointments online to tour and provided our license during the tour, they ask a few questions like what you're looking for but thats it. I did a lot of research between apartments.com, zillow, googling & viewing their websites. I hear great things from all who've been/lived there :)
I'm so glad to hear it! If you didn't see, I have another of our vlog going there for our move in Febuary with more apartments we liked 😊 Goodluck with the move and I hope you love the area.
Since we didn't have time to wait in line, we didn't find out but according to a 2023 article thirdeyetraveller.com/platform-9-3-4-london/#:~:text=Taking%20a%20photo%20with%20the,doesn't%20cost%20a%20penny. It's FREE! Can use your phones. I'm thinking if the photographer takes your photo you may have to pay for theirs :)
If you did your research, you would know you are wasting money purchasing an oyster, when you can use contactless visa. The Elizabeth Line is still the Underground and there has been Billions spent on upgrading the underground, you only seen a very tiny amount of it... Heathrow isint technically London. The plugs are not European they are British and unique to Britain. Britain is not European cultured. You can't use plugs in the bathroom brvause it's 240v and the condensation will kill you. Hatton Cross is Berkshire, though is under the London Borough of Hillingdon, it's not London and does not have a London post code, I found it disrespect and ignorant calling the underground dirty when you was only using outside London connections. Try using the Upgraded jublie line. Different world altogether. Though the Rjvet Thames is actually filthy but it is 30 million years old. Though I may come across negative I really glad you had a nice time. It was just some constructive criticism that I mean well. All the best.
Those two buttons over the toilet both flush, but the big button is for a long flush, the small for a short flush. I'll let you figure out what situations would cause you to need a short versus a long flush! It's to conserve water. I'm not going to dwell too much on why you would think an American hotel chain in England would have American electric sockets, because; quite frankly; that just disturbing! Those were British sockets (also used in some other countries around the world), not European. Although that socket behind the telly did look like a standard European socket. Our 240V electricity and water don't mix well! That's why you will only ever see specially adapted shaver sockets in our bathrooms, and will only ever see a chord in the bathroom to turn on the bathroom light (or the switch will be just outside the bathroom). It's for safety reasons. Hopefully, you now know that an Oyster card isn't really necessary and that contactless payment methods work in exactly the same way as an Oyster card. Simply tap in and out with a contactless credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or whatever. There can be benefits to having an Oyster card in certain circumstances, but you can research that online.
NHM employee here - if you can reach out and touch it (less than arms length) its a cast, if you can't, it's real -either positioned too far off or behind glass. The whale skeleton is real, the whale model of course is not (PS there's a hidden room inside they had to seal after finding beer bottles where employees would drink). The Museum can't have AC in many areas as it's a Listed Building -one of 30,000 in the city -which means you can't alter it.
the London Underground train services will look the way they do because they are the first to be built and oldest in the world apart from the Elizabeth lines as they are brand new systems and are named after our late Queen and she even opened the line, undergrounds in other countries only took the idea from the British
