god this musical is so phenomenal and special and such an accurate portrayal of being online these awful mazes we've trapped ourself in how fucking awful and addicting and capitalistic it is and yet we keep doing it for the beauty and connection and company it originally promised i wish i could see a full recording im stuck w just the soundtrack
watching this makes me cry i can't believe i've never seen it before octet is one of my favorite musicals the acappella effect really is incredible and when i can see them all singing their individual parts to form one beautiful whole it's so breathtaking
this is one of my favorite musicals (along with several other dave malloy works i love the great comet and ghost quartet) it sounds so incredible and is so so so real captures the internet and the awful and incredible things about it more than anything else i've ever seen in a miraculously genuine and uncringey way. makes me kinda sad that i can't find many full clips of it online or plot summaries for me to get the entire picture. but still i am in love with what i do get the small clips and beautiful soundtrack
Saw Hot Wing King at Hartford Stage, Hartford CT, March 16, 2024. This cast was amazing. They got to my boyfriend, age 60, who considers himself a Muslim (I say he has one foot in and one foot out.) He wouldn’t want the ‘brothers’ to see him enjoying the show. But he did! I was very proud of him. I’ve been telling him for a long time that another human’s sexuality is simply none of my business and may be the least important thing about them. Well done, Hartford cast. Bravo. Or should I say brava?! 💕
I am auditioning for this play on Saturday. Have 4 days to read script. If I order the boom it will take too long to get a feel and read. Can I purchase an ebook from you guys so I can start now
I knew it. I met Jesus 17 years ago and the God that was being portrayed in this movie is nothing like Him. We actually think we are all that without Him
Fantastic story, acting, and music. Such a great theatre ensemble. It was original and thought-provoking. What a great play. I don't want to give away too much. I know very little about this part of the world except for the genocide and I never heard Cambodian music before -- the story and the actors captured my focus and interest immediately. I'm so glad I went. I really hope this gets made into a film at some point.
Actually, anyone who looks at your plays on the page will see the obvious influence of poetic style as the words lay themselves out across the lines ... AND, playwrights trust actors to know more than any stage direction can hint, so those directions SHOULD be spare and surrounded by white spaces.
