Had a type 2 AC separation a couple of weeks ago. Starting to feel much better and wondering what I should be doing to ensure proper healing and not have long term ROM issues. Your video was very helpful. I tried several of your suggestions and can feel the impact. Thank you for posting this video. Very helpful for me.
You mention cycling. When I cycle it does make the meniscus injury a little sore. Not massively but definitely makes it inflamed. How about using the sledge instead? Push and pull. Is that just as effective or sticky to cycling?
I thank you for the good advice. I have exercises to do right now. My lateral meniscus is fissured. Inner right knee aches all day long and swells above the quadriceps. It’s been a month, almost 5 weeks and it’s still sore. I see a physiotherapist twice a week. I come out feeling much better, the next day i’m a cripple. Patience….
a brace for walking can be helpful if the joint feels unstable. I don't usually see much benefit mechanically for cyclists since the motion is already well controlled, but some people's knees feel better with some compression, so for that I may have patients try a sleeve while cycling. Good luck!
My MRI report shows that I had AC joint of Grade 2.I am just 19 and finished Collage last year and aiming to study abroad but this injury hurdles my future plans.I have to go through a long time to heals this and have to suffer from this guys.My shoulder condition is so bad even I could not lift my arm and especially the posture shoulder blade moves upwards.
Hi, i have a question about using a Flexbar to treat tennis elbow: how would I go about doing the exercises you mention in the video in case of having the condition in both arms? I have tried but get the feeling I am hurting the other arm when I focus on doing it for one arm. Thanks!
it could be necessary to switch to a different exercise at first such as a banded or dumbell wrist extension for some weeks and progress to the flexbar as things improve. good luck!
Who do you recommend to go to for a proper diagnosis? I go to my PCP for annual check ups, but I always feel like that's just an extra step for specific pain. Orthopedic?
In the early part of your video, you spelled tendonitis incorrectly...just thought you would want to know. On a better note, I like your videos. Very helpful and detailed. Thank you so much!
I have been trying therapy off and on to strengthen the glute med for several months but hit a wall with any type of abduction. I love your idea of starting with gluteal pumps and believe I can tolerate the inner thighs squeeze but not sure I can tolerate the leg straightening 3a and b. So my question is; what other very beginner exercises I could try to keep progressinng? Thank you!
I've been suffering from both TE and GE on my right arm for about 2months now. Tried icing and heating and taking many aspirins nothing worked. Started going Physio and did ultrasound and massage and stretching .I personally feel ultrasound didnt reduce the pain but my physio will massage the hell out of my tendon area which can tear me up for about 30mins.That deep massage I feel helps alot with pain relief. You can try at your own risk.
Very good. Clear, compassionate and as positive in the circumstances. I have a tiny tear which came from nowhere six months ago. I wear a knee brace a lot of the time and walk 4/5000 steps a day. I had a cortisone injection some weeks ago, but it didn’t seem to change things. Seems to be the long game and patience. I’m 69 yrs.
Do you know how Grade 3 separations do if someone has Buford's Complex like me and screws in the shoulder? Im super bummed and obviously going to miss the coming climbing season.
supraspinatus or longhead, could be either. But I've got distal bicep pain as well. Definitely happened when I started doing hammer curls. Cut those completely. Doing lightweight supinating stretches. Cannot hold arm to shave on opposite side of face for more than a minute or two or the arm will feel pain when straightened (must straighten slowly) -- assuming this is some form of tenosynovitis (began several years ago with that one). Shoulders not quite at even heights when standing, likely the result of overdevelopment of front delts vs rear lats. Minor weakness in shoulder during presses and differential in lifting motions between right and left sides -- likely adaptive compensation to avoid the painful ranges of motion (used to be worse). I can see why this stuff is hard to diagnose.
thank you for this video. i am a professional musician (violinist) and very worried about losing agility in my fingers because of climbing. i can feel a difference the days after i climb (i only climb on rocks, either at the crag or long multipitch routes). i am worried the stiffness and soreness i feel affect not only my practicing of the days after but i am scared it could be something that gradually makes me lose agility. is it possible to prevent this? is it possible to still climb hard and not lose any agility for the violin? thank you so much in advance :)
Hi. I see you are a guitar player, so maybe you can help me. I have arm tendinitis from playing guitar. I need to change my arm position while playing, but what is the best way to treat it? Anything different than tennis elbow?
I have worked too much for gaining power in shooulder and i injured my elbow while Spate(Desi Pushups ) and after 6 months i relaized it as a tennis elbow and after realizing this i had X ray and i shows up with AC joint dislocation and shoulder Dislocation. Now its a serious matter to treat this.I am in pain and tension after this even i had an ACL surgery last year and this happened with me again in shoulder OH God i am worty about my furure plans and seriously fear for future. Please pray for me.😢
The movement at 15:30 Should i keep doing this movement (but with less resistance until it feels better) if it causes slight pain? Great video at the perfect timing
