My paternal grandfather, Andras Muska was from the Presov area of Slovakia... a little city with the name of Nizna Sebastova. He said we were descendants of a Cossack chief which I understand was an ataman back in the 1820s. He claimed the origin of the Cossacks were Slovakian but before that they were of Circassian heritage. I recall going over to my grandfather Andras home around Christmas when I was 4-5 years old. Grandfather, his four brothers my dad and his older brother and my grandfather's brother's boys would sing this song... no music, just their beautiful voices. How I wish I could hear them sing now as I am an older man and can appreciate their talent. They spoke multiple languages including Slovak, Polish, Hungarian, Russian, etc. Ken Muska
@@xaddo Thank you Marek. What area in Ukraine could they have possibly been from? Supposedly, my ancestor was an ataman/chief back in the 1820s-1830s (6 generations back from me). His surname/family name was Muska best I know. Some have told me he could have been a Don or Zaphorizian Cossack. Family stories say the Muskas were from the area between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea prior to traveling to Slovakia. I do have current family in the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Ken Muska
