I stan Vanessa Amorosi , and NIkka Costa but... There's only a few singers who I get into like Aretha, she has something that most singers don't have, she's soooooo emotive. Her vocals are like warm hugs and curry on a winter night.

Good Latin Jazz Flavor. Good to practice with Timbales with the Jam Block to set the Clave. I have this vinyl, but Capitol Emi in the Credits the brass section is missing, what are the saxophones, trombones and trumpet performers on the recording

Natalie Cole was the SHIT!♥️♥️♥️ Before Whitney Houston we had NATALIE COLE! She ROCKED the 70's and stole the heart of America. She did come out doing cross over music. She hit scene with straight up R&B with undertones of funk and "they" crossed over! I will ALWAYS LOVE NATALIE COLE. I miss her.🙏🏾♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Queen of A5 belts, and I think she did slide up to C#6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, her mix technique is incredible. She's using a head mix here which sounds uniform with the lower range, and it gives an illusion of chest voice due to excellent mix technique, proper support, and so many years of experience. WOW
@geminikid1617
@geminikid1617 5 месяцев назад
Some aren’t illusions. At least a 3rd of the A5s are real belts. You can hear the difference between the mixed 1s by the heavier sound and the intensity, along w/the quality matching her mid belts.

Yea most are like strained because she's like actually screaming. And raspy and sometimes cracks but in her mixed voice it's supported clean with clarity and can sustain for some time.

@@SisiphoMabindisa Yes because her voice sits soo high up she has the ability to like yell higher because of how high her voice is!

@whitneyhouston1122 I wouldn't call it yelling nor screaming. She's mixing/belting not yelling

unreal this is 45 years old in 2023 but i never heard or saw this yet there were so many media outlets before the youtube age. this was the real funk rock talent not shitney hou stain or madonnkey or janet jackson.

maybe she was referring to the 1978 film sgt peppers lonely hearts club. a creepy movie but would have been cool if she was in it.

this 1978 production included earth wind and fire which it shouldn't have as natalie cole was more fit to be on a tv special with rocker women or even donna summer but not earth wind and fire.
@dampergoldenrod4156
@dampergoldenrod4156 Год назад
this is 1978 a mere 10 year earlier natalie cole was 18 years old in 1968 and was influenced by the hippie peace and love scene, she was of that era.

her voice is so stupendous here but her 1980 and 1981 albums should have been some harder rock songs and she faltered in the early 1980s. unreal that pissants like madonna and jacket jackson were promoted in the 1980s to appeal to people with base music tastes and that the 1980s was not dominated by rock-funk from natalie cole.
