I remember what my old home town was like back in the 50s & 60s - so much has changed, but thankfully there are still a few places (shops) remaining. The last time I visited the town was in 2014 (when my step mother died). I left Addlestone in 1968, when I married, and then left Surrey for Wiltshire in 1972. I do sometimes feel homesick though! Great memories.
Gosh, how Chertsey has changed, I left Surrey in 1969, for Wiltshire. It was good to see The Constitutional Hall again on 0.17, I used to go there for dance lessons with Miss Jennifer Lesware in the late 50s - early 60s. Fond memories of old Chertsey. My Grandparents were married in St Peters Church, around 1920. A town with a lot of history.

You can do that in Langstone Harbour (Portsmouth) except people time it wrong, once the tide changes at low tide and starts returning, you have at best around 20 minutes before people start getting trapped by the incoming tide. Once you see the tide turn, get the hell back to the shore.
