Hi Ian, thanks for making this video for Seaside PPG, a friend of mine recommended it. I visit Seaside often with family, and kite my wing at the beach. I am thinking about bringing my paramotor to fly from the local airport like you did. I wonder if you could share some specific tips and rules we should follow and respect in order to launch there? Thanks - Terry
Nice build!! Did you have to remove the fedex metal sliding door before your build? I’m doing this now and it seem that the door track is welded to the floor. If you removed yours did you cut it or did you use a specific tool to remove? Our does not have any screws attached.
@@IanMastenbrook94 That's interesting. My nearest airport is Grove Field and their website says "With the exception of Ultralights, non-FAA approved aircraft are expressly prohibited from the airfield. (See FAA Part 103.)" Then again, I believe paramotors will be classified as ultralights under FAA 103. I haven't tried asking them because I don't have equipment or training yet.
@@NathanMellor Exactly. PPG's are indeed an ultralight and can definitely be operated out of Grove. I've seen them there before. Just be cautious as its a very busy airport and you need to be aware of the proper procedures of entering the traffic pattern. I'd advise using a handheld radio as well
14:54 I love it: a accident projectile rack... Nice and efficient too with an assortment of glass jars to propel unsuspected (quit unhappy) campers into an ER near you...
The Magnificent Adamic-man, the Christian Race ... This is so cool to watch other people fly such cool planes. We are all jealous. I will just sit here and pretend with a simulator instead for now haha.
I have a Sprinter Im coverting. Wouldn't it make sense to run all your electrical and plumbing before you install all your insulation? Am I missing something?
Weight ratio ?? Always calculate how much total(!) personal weight You need to be allowd to carry (Your own weight, couple, kids, invited, pets, all the luggage, hobby and pro équipements, ustensiles, water-tank, full fuel tank, Four-season clothing, spear parts, food reserve and kitchen utensiles, reserve weight, = total luggage Kg ? Then; how much weighs the car empty (see vehicle papers)? Now add to empty car weight the "luggage weight" (see above fornula). Subtract that total from the TOTAL ALLOWD KG to this particular model of car. The difference You get are the numbers of KG you are left with for Isolation, Electricity/solar hardware + batteries, gaz bottle, fridge, bed, table, drawers. This ratio awareness is never told upfront yet it is ESSENTIAL to know, to be tought.
