@@mokepemberley4525 For the body it would be fairly difficult due to the number of stitches and at the bottom of the yoke. The sleeves are knit in the round so will require either circular needles or dpns.
I too love my mini crochet hook. It helps with dropped stitches and repairs, weaving in ends, and making buds. Do you use your thimble much as you knit. I have been thinking of trying one.
I love your videos. They are very informative. I really like the cardigan you are wearing. Could you please tell me which pattern this is. Many thanks.
I have a very small sized ivory crochet hook I use to fix mistakes and pick up dropped stitches. My favorite yarn to work with is fingering and this crochet makes repairs a breeze. I've had it so long I don't remember where I got it from.
A 9” 000 circular needle - as a cable needle, stop a run away stitch, pick up stitches from edges / frogging, stitch holder. I wouldn’t be surprised if it could go make me coffee, it’s that useful.
I've just watched the Q&A for the Autumn KAL. It is my first one and I was looking forward to it. Now I'm kinda petrified 😂 and I'm only half joking 😮 Just wondering what size needles I will need so I can be prepared somewhat. Thanks Carol
Hi Deirdre, welcome to our KAL and don't worry it's lots of fun! Here is the needles info for the Saoirse Sweater & Vest pattern, (you can also find them in the pattern pdf): US size 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles, 32”/ 80 cm long (or longer for larger sizes) & 16-20” / 40-50 cm long for neck US size 7 / 4.5 mm dpns if magic loop not being used for sleeves US size 6 / 4 mm circular needles, 32”/ 80 cm long (or longer for larger sizes) & 16-20” / 40-50 cm long for neck for Garter Edging US size 6 / 4 mm dpns if magic loop not being used for sleeves for Garter Edging
@@deirdrehehir6476 oh that makes more sense!! They will both be in the round and will use 4.5mm needles, the rest of the information will all be in the pattern when we get started.
I’ve also seen it called the clasp join. I do it but I don’t like doubling the thickness so I split the strands and fold over half the strands to restore it to the original thickness. Later on I go back and trim the loose unused strands and weave them in to be the back of the work. .
Thank you for this information about travelling stitches. It looks quite interesting. Now to consider- can I add more into my autumn plans for knitting? It is very tempting!
This is my new Autumn Knit-along pattern, the Saoirse Sweater, if you'd like to read more about it you can check out my blog here: www.carolfeller.com/2024/08/introducing-the-saoirse-autumn-knit-along-2024/
