Well, how come old cars are still affordable in the US ? In the UK some cheeky sod would be after easily over 1000 for those Ramblers ! The prices have gone silly since the credit crunch and the drop in interest rates, and doubly fuelled by greedy speculators. I think I've moaned about this before in relation to Avengers.... Probably just as well, as they'd be piling up outside my house aswell ! john :)
Недавно увидел Хилман Авенгер очень в хорошем состоянии на Кипре, мне очень понравилась, не знаю за сколько ее продают но у машини очень большие перспективы для тюнинга. Будь я в своей родине не задумываясь купил бы себе ее
I own two 62 Plymouths one is a 4DSN Savoy, the other is a Fury station wagon. If you didn't sell it, you should keep it! You wouldn't believe how many people don't know a Valiant from a Fury or Savoy. I get it every time I go to a car show. And by the way I wish I would have seen this video four months ago, l bought a Savoy for parts for my wagon and cut the rest of the car up, and gave the trunk lid away.
Very cool model. I like the old datsuns. The 1200 datsuns are becoming very expensive to buy in new zealand now. I used to drive a datsun cherry 100 when I was younger. Anything 80's and before is very expensive and collectable now. Like you videos on the crickets I have a Hillman superminx. Still quite a few Hillman avengers her in NZ.
I’ve had a few 1200, and more than a few B210s (120y), I prefer the sedan over the coupe (fastback). I’ve always said if I win the lottery, I’m going to find a perfect wagon/van in New Zealand and import it to the states
Had one given to me by a neighbor. Mine was a '71 De Luxe model that had been rolled over by his father while driving it drunk. Mine also had frame rot that made it unsafe to drive on the road so I used it to drive from my mobile home to the front office to get the mail. I taught my late wife how to drive a 4 speed manual in this car. Wound up selling it for scrap after the engine quit. Never thought I'd ever see one again, thanks for sharing.
So happy to find your channel; I'm British and moved to the USA several years ago; I've always been a huge Rootes fan. I'd love to find a Cricket in SoCal; I think the Avenger is a very underrated car (and rare in the UK now).
Unfortunately, I think the last one left with me. But you never know; they are starting to come out of the woodwork. There’s a white non decor car on the Facebook Cricket group for sale, I think
Great video showing these old Hillman Avengers or crickets as sold in the US. Great to see enthusiasts saving these cars and getting them back on the road or salvaging them for parts.
@@glenjarnoldmy dad had one, it was called a Hillman Avenger in the UK, then he had an Austin Morris Marina before going upmarket. The Avenger/Cricket I was very fond of.
@@thatguyfromcetialphaV Yeah mine was an Avenger (I'm in the U.K.) I did loads to it - updated engine/suspension/exhaust system etc, two up/two down fogs and spotlights, then had it resprayed from bronze to gold. It would make mincemeat of my mate's Capri 2.0S, I put a lot of time and money into it and was gutted when someone drove into the back of it when we were coming back from a holiday in 1984 and wrote it off.
The gold Avenger looks ace. Sorry but to me, it'll always be an Avenger. On a different note, check out a couple of channels called I Drive a Classic and Furious Driving. Hope you're doing better.
