Make sure the blinds are all the way open. Then try to release them normally. I spent an hour figuring this out and it pisses me off lol. Open, flat bladed blinds, no tilt.

I fixed my issue but turning the blinds. Seems the angle of the blinds causes the lock mechanism from releasing the cords to go down.
