Having been raised in the L.A. Basin in the 50s, I was never attracted to country music, other than artists who crossed over to R&R (and they weren't called crossovers then). So I knew of Patsy Cline with her hit Crazy. Knew of Johnny from I Walk the Line and Ring of Fire. But I didn't learn about the Collins Kids until I was watching Ozzie & Harriet shows about 10 years ago when it was on YT and saw Rick singing with Laurie Collins. I went looking for her and found the Collins Kids. So for me this is an all-star show.
One time in the mid 60s on Sundays we'd go to the NCO Club at Ft Belvoir, Va..it was a special by Tex Ritter & his band..my Da who was into Country music was especially looking forward to seeing Tex Ritter. Well he brought his family And all the kids of families there hooked up with his 2 sons, one being John Ritter ...we played and walked around the NCO club doing what young kids do, talking and mostly being entertained by John who became the leader of us kids that day. ..great memories
