Hi Ollie, another great review. I remember seeing these at SED back in the day. I've always liked the simplicity of the design and it appears well built. The price pitches it well for the occasional users who have difficulty hiring a crusher bucket but don't want too much money tied up in attachments.I've seen it mounted to a Skid Steer and then hand fed. 😥 Keep up the good work 👍

Nice exoplanetary video as always olly, I looked at buying one of these hawkfork buckets a few years ago, I decided to go with the bav 3 alligator crusher from dig bits in the end as it opens up much more demolition work for the machinery. Like ripping up concrete pads, footings and demolishing walls and buildings, you get a lot of material out of the large lumps, Large lumps like footings cant go through these crusher buckets so that was a big downside to them in my opinion. I then purchased a small concrete crusher (80ton per day) to crush on jobs and in the yard. Also I purchased a star screening bucket to separate the muddy clear ups and clean up site gardens. all works very well. If you or anyone else wants to take a look at my set up then drop me a pm as youtube often hides comments with website links carry on with the great videos, cheers, paul

I really like the MB buckets and spent a long time looking at them. But the flywheel buckets are very heavy and whilst they fly though the material, on a backhoe it’s a bit much to be driving down the road with!

I had a black cscs card they call managers and professionals , i cant renew it because i dont have an nvq. Im a site manager 49 years old and im not doing an nvq level 6 at my age when i have years of experience and an smsts cert. I emailed the construction leadership council that came up with this idea , they are not interested. I did say that now im going for an operatives green cscs card. I know a lot of people are doung tbe same , i sooke to course providers and labour agencies. So on small to medium size projects the site manager will have an operatives card instead of a managers card. These size projects or companies dont necessarily ask for a cscs. I have just started a £2 2 million project and they are letting me go ahead with a green operatives card. Only the tier 1 contractors will insist on black cards. I also have to do a one day h and s course to apply for my green card. Its complete madness. And i can only assume its about money , so im finding it hard to take this industry seriously nowadays.

I made this video to make people aware of the approaching deadline. But its turned into something more than that. Sadly, so many people are either leaving the industry, or finding work arounds to keep working. None of it though has improved safety, productivity, or upskilled the workforce in any meaningful way. The representatives that watch over our industry have truly lost their way, and your story, along with so many others proves that. I wish you the best of luck navigating through all this.

Nice one Ollie ..... I thought the -5 had fixed the flow share :( As you know I rate the WN ET65 - we all know there is only so much oil to go round and everything slows, but when it slows on the wacker it does it smoothly without the kubota sudden bang. For me it was between ET65 and 260 Tak - never got to try the Tak but v pleased with the Et65 Hopefully you get your hands on the other contentenders, really enjoy watching your reviews.

That’s surprising to hear, I feel like Volvos have a very good reputation. I wonder why they don’t do as well on the secondhand market. I wonder if it’s really just that Kubota has such good brand recognition in the mini excavator world?

The jerking while tracking is definitely something i have noticed on my kx040. I had engcon put in the track steering and that helps a lot because it allows me to feather the drive a bit more. The travel and the other functions do drag on each other quite a bit but i figure thats probably more common than not on many machines.

Its by far the most stressful place to operate machinery. There's always someone within your working radius - sometimes multiple people! It gets worse during week 3 when the planting teams turn up as they just aren't used to being around kit like this and walk in some very stupid places....

Great work Ollie! May i ask who pays for all of this and who profits from this huge amount of work?
@Olliegunns
@Olliegunns 19 дней назад
The gardens are mostly all sponsored, a couple will be self funded but that's pretty rare due to the cost! As for profiting, the work that goes on before we even get onto site, the planning, the long hours, and pretty much devoting the entire month of May to the show means that it doesn't actually pay anything like as good as a proper job (at least for me). But I do it to show off my skills to other contractors who are all in my area and I have made some great connections and got some decent jobs outside of the show that I otherwise would not have got. So its a bit of a lost leader for me, and I think that's the same for the contractor I work for. But get a Gold medal at Chelsea and you wont be short of work - and very high end work at that.

Amazing, but just what did that cost and it's all got to come back out. Sounds like a plug pulled ion the Avant. I've had the seals go on the main boom ram... The loader is crazy without proportional controls, that'll be an extra then! Where did the judges score the garden? Great video.
@peefor135
@peefor135 19 дней назад
The Avant controls (on the buttons) are either on or off. The levers give you proportional control, but as you say, you have to remove your hand from the handle, to use them.
@Olliegunns
@Olliegunns 19 дней назад
We got a Silver Gilt medal - and were only one point off a gold! So close. The Avant got worse and actually ended up letting us down with an oil leak which turned out to be a loose hose but right deep down inside the machine. They replaced the fuse in the joystick circuit and it blew again a few hours later so obviously some kind of short there. I sadly think the quality of the Avants has gone down hill the last few years. Paintwork is poor, the plastic panels are really flimsy and lots of electrical issues with the ones we end up hiring. Shame because they are very capable in the right circumstances.
@bobrose7900
@bobrose7900 17 дней назад
@@Olliegunns Great result Ollie! Beers all round I should think. What looks like a small job is massively complex and the tilt rotator was priceless. Agree with the paint finish on the Avant, although JCB take the biscuit for me. I've had no electrical gremlins(touch wood) on the Avant, it's a 2021 model. The versatility for forestry and grounds maintenance is unmatched with the range of accessories available, but how expensive! Don't regret though, and ours is, crucially, kept in the dry, as with all the other machinery, including 8026 and E10z(stunning little machine). Hire machines take a beating and are never loved. Our mini digger and small plant hire company will only work Kubotas for durability and reliability. Actual performance is way down the list of desirable traits for them.
