It's best to just try to avoid them (if possible). I think there is a bit of luck involved.

@@AntumDeluge there is for sure. It’s very frustrating that 7 and 8 FC don’t have a reset function, so each time I fail I have to slowly take 3 deaths on purpose. It kills the motivation to keep playing.

@@enigmazero8624 You can try Cheat Engine ( www.cheatengine.org/ ). It should be able to make you have only one life at start & instant death. It makes restarting faster. I used it for some of the fan games, don't remember for sure if I used it with the FC games.

@@AntumDeluge I was able to make a hotkey that set my current lives count to 0, so each time I start a stage I can just press that button and be on my way. I probably could do something more efficient than that, but I didn’t care to put more effort into it. This is sufficient for my purposes. Thanks very much for the suggestion!

I haven't released a new version in a long time. But I have recently made updates on GitHub ( github.com/AntumDeluge/debreate ) to get it to work on current systems. You can download the master branch & try it.

@@AntumDeluge I downloaded the version from GitHub and tried running it in my Python using Geanie. I am using the latest Ubuntu LTS 22.04. One very big problem now is you have set it to need wxPython 4.1.1 and this is not on my Ubuntu, installing it is so difficult I gave up. It is better to change the dependency to wxPython 4.0.0, it will then work with Ubuntu 22.04 with no problem at all. Ken

It's 'libvo_aacenc'. But this tutorial is outdated. I think 'aac' is the encoder to use now. Execute 'ffmpeg -encoders' to see what encoders your version of ffmpeg supports.

Changing the file extension doesn't change any of its data. However, there may be certain players or editors that interpret it incorrectly if they depend on the filename to parse it. Most don't. They use header info embedded into the file. Since VOB is an MPEG program stream & it is backward compatible, changing the extension is harmless. If you want an MPEG PS container without the additional VOB info you can re-multiplex it with Avidemux, FFmpeg, or a similar software.

I use either FFmpeg or Captura ( mathewsachin.github.io/Captura/ ) on Windows, which uses FFmpeg as a backend.

I use the default program I have on my laptop (meant for recording games), it's very good, but for some reason, it doesn't recognize some games (such as Rockman 7 FC, example), so it won't record them. Thus I need to find another program for this kind of games

@@BegUltra These are free and open-source programs. FFmpeg ( www.ffmpeg.org/ ) is a command line video converter/editor that supports desktop video & audio capture. Captura is a GUI front-end for it. But I recently found out that Captura is no longer developed. So there won't be any new releases unless someone else takes over or forks the project. Another free app that uses FFmpeg as the back-end is OBS Studio ( obsproject.com/ ). But I haven't used that one very much, so I don't know a lot about it.

@@AntumDeluge sorry, would you mind to explain a little bit more, since I'm not familiar with the terms: Captura uses FFmpeg as a backend, what does it mean? I'm just downloading both these programs. Can I record with just one of them, or I need both? Also, if Captura is no longer developed, I guess it's OK if the latest existing version is good enough, the updates are not required then. Will also downloat the third program you mentioned, to try that as welll

@@BegUltra No problem. FFmpeg is a command line tool, so it doesn’t have a user interface (buttons ‘n stuff). You have to type in commands for it in a console. Captura does have a user interface, but when it records it actually uses FFmpeg in the background. And no, you do not need both because Captura has FFmpeg built into it. I’m sure Captura will continue to work for a long time even though it isn’t being developed anymore.

No problem. DVD Shrink has been dead for years now, but luckily the last release still works.

Actually, I'm just persistent. If you keep trying something long enough, eventually you might succeed at it :). Haven't played Make a Good Mega Man Level yet. I might try it someday.

@@AntumDeluge You know well rockman 8 astro man stage in 8- bit. The last part of the stage is the maze. I know a fast buster only way to cross it. I cross the maze approximately 20 seconds buster only. I will show you video if you are interested. I love 8- bit mega man games. I am a big mega man fan.

Are you talking about the speed? This game normally runs at 50 fps (PAL) (unless you have one of the new mini Genesis systems that comes with it), but I manually set it to 60 (NTSC).

When I reduced the framerate from 60 fps to 30 for RU-vid, I used a method that blends frames instead of drops them. It introduces some blur to the video, but at least you don't end up with missing images.

I edited out the scores in the intro. Not sure why I wanted to do that now.

Originally, I didn't intend to do any Dr. Wily/fortress stages. But since I have finished all the robot masters in the currently released fan games that I am aware of, I have gone back & started doing them for the original Mega Man series. So I may eventually come back to this & do Wily stages.

According to the Fandom wiki page ( megamanfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Honey_Woman ), Honey Woman was an early concept for Mega Man 9. But was eventually replaced with Hornet Man.

Correct, he is from Mega Man 4. The authors of Mega Man: Rock N Roll added him as a special character. He has some new attacks. If you defeat him, he will aid you later on in the game.

I really just play over & over again until I get it right. I think players like RoahmMythril are probably better than I am. I may eventually do Wily/fortress stages. So far, the only game I have done that for is Mega Man Rock Force.

I decided to look around & I found that Kaph Mocoon did this a couple years ago ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4XVM1FbdevQ.html ). But he/she did it on Insane Mode. So that's pretty impressive. I think the levels are the same, Mega Man just receives more damage from enemies. But the robot masters are definitely harder.

@@AntumDeluge RoahmMythril is a very good mega man player. He/she beat all mega man games from mm1 to mm 11 perfect. But you are better than RoahmMythril for all mega man fan games. He/she has only blind run videos from mega man fan games, he/she has not perfect run mega man rock force, mega man SFR and mega man rock n roll. I saw RoahmMythril video mega man rock force. He/she can't beat justice man with buster. He/she beat justice man with blue beat bird. You beat justice man perfect with buster only.

@@AntumDeluge you are better than RoahmMythril. You shoot and play faster than him/ her. RoahmMythril fight perfect but RoahmMythril fight 2 minutes against robot masters. You beat the robot masters less than one minute excpect for slash man. This fight lasts longer than others.

The day I can do this ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HNsk8ZOsILk.html ) I might consider myself as good as Roahm. ☺
