Disabled students? What an unprofessional way of saying it! There is a textbook definition for Intellectual Disability, people with very low IQ, called Mental Retardation... Would you use "Retard" word in your communication to the public?? Communication is another important thing Inclusive teachers need to learn. Saying "disabled" is about the construction of normality as in labelling people "normal and not normal". This is exclusion, the exact opposite of inclusion. The term Inclusion is a great word but in practicality it seems like the Harbour School doesn't know what are they doing in inclusive classroom. They may say a lot of wonderful stuff in the later part of the video,,, all the textbook stuff,,, but they lost me at the very beginning when they said disabled. Harbour School they say... this is how you lose your reputation. What is wrong in saying "Students who learn differently" ?
