The Rays have produced a reasonably good baseball product for the past 16 years. For a recent expansion team, there are 9 playoff appearances, to include 2 AL Pennants. Not too shabby! I think what kills this team is a) they play in St. Petersburg. I think they need to be closer to Tampa. And b) a lot of residents who are older and/or transplanted from up north are fans of the NY teams, Boston, Philadelphia, etc. Also, they’re in the same division as the Yankees and Red Sox. I think it’s hard to convert baseball fans that are generations deep into being Yankees and Sox fans. TB’s status quo is a bad recipe. I think it ensures that Yankees & Sox fans outnumber your fans when they visit your ballpark.

I don't get why cities with good weather opt for domes... Los Angeles was the first one to mess up building a dome in a perfect weather city. Now the Jaguars want to do the same... This makes no sense! They can build open air stadiums and still hold Super Bowls!
Why they don't move all these terminals and all the buses traffic to New Jersey? Then they can build fast speed trains between these terminals in New Jersey and midtown Manhattan in New York. This would relieve so much transportation traffic and also allow to reallocate so much real estate for commercial business and residential properties. It would be much faster then to commute between NY and NJ.
