My name is Bryan and I like to make things. This channel will follow me as I attempt to make things. I will be using a variety of tools and equipment. I currently have a Glowforge Laser Cutter, Compress uv1220s UV printer, and a STV Plasma Table.
At a distance the "good" one has a cloudy look to it, as in light and dark patches. While the "bad" one looks more uniform in tone. Is that a usefule way to tell them arpart as well?
The 1/4 inch has been so hit and miss. I think that I found a supplier and then some of the boards won't cut. I have given up on cutting 1/4 mdf with the Glowforge. I am now only using 1/8 inch.
So was the last metal screw a phillips head (the one prior to jamming the small exterior piece on)? Couldn't make out in the video and contemplating tackling this on my own.
I’ve enjoyed watching your videos. I was wondering if you’ve looked into buying a different laser? I started with a glowforge and now have a Thunder Laser. Night and day difference and that same cut would have taken less than 3 minutes. Thanks again for the videos! 😊
I first understood it to be two minutes, and six seconds. When you said two hours, six minutes I nearly fell out of my chair. We sandblast bricks, and one like this would take approximately one minute max.
If you're selling them, the spray would be key unless you can figure out how to get an even coat of the mustard on every piece every time. Unless you want to sell inferior and cheap looking products. I use mustard to force a patina on my uncoated High Carbon Steel knives and getting an even coat isn't easy. Have you tried and zinc-based spray paints?
Thanks for that, I hadn't realised the glowforge was so advances with the camera ? Is it automatic or is there a process to get to where the camera gives you that text window. Its' quite good, do you use their software or Lightburn? It probably wont work that well on sockets as you are dealing with Chrome which is extremely hard and the food knives are more likely to be of 18/10 stainless steel which compared to chrome is a relatively soft metal, chromes IR refectivity is also incredibly high so most of the energy will just bounce straight off I expect. thanks for the vid, useful video with the right amount of information.
Thank You TY TY! This is exactly my issue right now!… the hardest step is now to FIND an ally wrench when u need one Used a flat head and got the job done. Im back in business..TY
I thought you were yanking my chain, like this was some kind of April Fools video. But I decided to give it a try, because the soonest I can get any of those expensive sprays delivered is next week. I can't believe that just worked using a bottle of mustard from my fridge that expired over a year ago! THANKS!!!
my arm is derailing like in the video. i tightened the belts on both side but it is still jumping off track. i am beyond frustrated and would be very thankful if you could offer any advice
Make sure that the belt and rail that the roller ride on are clean and clear of obstructions. Also make sure when you tighten the belt the carriage needs to be on the rail evenly. You can do this by pushing the carriage all the way to the front while the belt is loose. Let me know how you make out.

I need to cut a name into pieces to make a 36" sign. I'm using Illustrator and need to make sure the name joins clean at the cuts. I have a Glowforge Plus (no passthrough). Any suggestions?
I don't have a lot of experience with that. If you cut it into 3 or 4 separate pieces and then cut a second layer into 3 or 4 pieces in different spots, then you should be able to glues the top and bottom layer together and it should work out. Let me know how you make out.
