Mosquitos - I’ve heard that Garlic deters them. But do you eat a ton of it, or spread it on your skin? Lol ! We live near the Medicine Bow National Forest… Snowy Range Mtns., in Wyoming. People can be very friendly and others - well, guess you've experienced that also. But mosquitoes - never friendly! Enjoy your trip north through Wyoming. I think it's a beautiful state as you will/have see(n).
That's up to you. Do whatever and take whatever makes you feel safe. My message was for the people who aren't already planning on taking one, that they don't need to worry about not having it on the Appalachian Trail. In my year, I only met three people with guns on them, and none of them completed the trail.

As a Minnesota resident, I've definitely been to places with mosquitoes that bad. But I'm surprised they wouldn't leave you alone even in open areas where there should have been a bit of a breeze. If this was mid-July, I hope your mid-August is doing much better. P.S. Nice hail footage.

It’s not the people who are conservative, it is the weenies running the Conservative Party. Only in the UK and France does someone who won 30% of the popular vote get to run the country. The 10th Mountain Division was trained in mountain climbing and skiing as methods of fighting. They didn't end up using their skiing warfare but did but their mountain climbing skills to good use in Italy. They came back and became the founders of the ski resorts in and skiing industry in the US.

What a beautiful, beautiful day, but with sadness that Colorado is ending. I think that life is just a bunch of highs and lows, because if you stay high all of the time you just get used to it and then it’s nothing special. You could travel around the world hiking year round, but you’re going to wear your body out prematurely and this life is not forever as well. None of my talk is meant as a downer, it’s just the reality of our existence.
