Our basic mission at Keystone Korner in San Francisco from 1972 to 1983 was to provide the best music in the world for the most affordable prices in the most loving environment. That is still our fundamental goal today at Keystone Korner Baltimore, with the added blessing of joining forces with Grandmaster Chef Robert Wiedmaier and his All Star Team to make absolutely sure that the outstanding food and libations will be as consistently inspiring and as reasonably-priced as the truly phenomenal music presented with in a relaxed and most welcoming setting.
The Eternal Jazz Messenger Art Blakey often said that "my heart belongs to Keystone." And that heart is still beating strong.
What about the rhythm section ? Why do you not write their names ????? I don't understand this unrespect way to treat all the musicians ! SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!!

Not my post, but I am one of the trumpeters. Piano: Allyn Johnson; Bass: Blake Meister; Drums: Eric Kennedy. Amazing musicians, deserving of the highest respect indeed!
Carl was my good friend and he'll forever be missed! Much love! Love this! I saw him at Keystone a couple Tuesdays before and we just talked about recording a duo project together.
Wow. NZ has some killer players. I knew about Dylan Elise and his sister and that crowd but this is a whole other world of talent here. Add Dennis chambers and that band takes off to another level. That Bass player man.

Also heard them at the Vermont Jazz Center. Always admired Christine Jensen and -WOW - is she surrounded by the most talented musicians regardless of gender, race, or any other world class folks. The group is MONUMENTAL. Cannot wait to catch them at Lincoln Center in a few weeks... Worth whatever the cost…..and more.😂
I've always love Glady Knight! Believe me as a long-haired hard rock/metal loving white guy, I caught hell from my friends for having her cassettes in my collection! I took it in stride. I love Dionne Warwick too.
Best vibraphonist I've ever heard...sticks to the music and has an edge. Great drumming/er Dave-always great and a great organist with a teeni tiny organ. Is that digital? Is there a lesli? Does Dave get that great sound with a transistor amp..what is that thing?
Pedrito tremenda música es Rolandon a si me llamabas cuando vivías en unos de mis apartamentos en la 22 st. En New Jersey un abrazo Dios te bendiga mi hermano!!!!!
An absolutely great song, sung in heartfelt, beautiful way! Three cheers to jazz restaurants that are among those still existing, and honoring the greatest music from yesterday’s, the greatest music I know of, among the real classics!❤
Also, Mike stands out still these days, cos he's no gimmick...just incredible musicality. He can play blues without recycling the pentatonic which is what most folk do. He's got Bach counterpoint in there, piano chords, so much...yet so free and fluid. Always in awe of his playing...and personality.
