Saw Sebadoh at the Bierkeller in Bristol around Bakesale time. Awesome band but obviously their rider was shite. They came out for their encore and gave tins of John Smiths to the front row.
I was at that gig and everyone was heckling the band so when Lou said he was gonna play a song by J Mascis , I naively shouted Freak Scene and the room went deathly quiet. Jason demanded to know who said it, the crowd parted, he saw me and screamed at me saying i was an asshole. I was humiliated and embarrased. Lou came up to me after the show and gave me a beer and apologised, saying he used to heckle bands all the time. Then Manda Rin from Bis ( the support act) gave me a free t shirt!
Hi Charles! I still think of that day when I first listened to this song. Deep inside I felt your grief. You re gone now but you are still alive in our memories.
I wish i had been at this reunion show. When I was at Tufts in Medford/Somerville, I had a Civic with a cd player, and one of the albums I picked up at a record store in Davis Square was a deluxe cd reuission of this album. I listened to this thing for like two years straight.
Flashy guitar guy (same hotdog that wouldn't cut his volume for just a sec while they introduced the bass player) is a lil' bit too busy on the 'ol 6-strang. Hes good but there's points where you can't follow the harmony of the song cuz he's soo busy showing off! I gots to keep it real!
Wow. I just forgot that I used to cover this song... After my 2nd band broke up, I started doing some solo stuff, purely for enjoyment; this was one of the few songs I covered.
Neal Has been( that present tense ISNT s mistake) harmonizing for my storylines with Adams for more than a decade and I’m really gratified it was Neal.
How on earth can there be a gender spectrum. When one gender obviously wants to be the other gender. By default it’s binary. Let’s be honest and accept the obvious. There may be shades of the two, but trans, by default means moving from one to the other.
My first job after leaving school in 1981 was at a furniture factory in Bletchley. I worked with the fella that wrote Headbutts......he sold it to John and Willy for 50 quid Great days
