"That is not going to happen," was the moment. Hank sees the innocence of the man he knew disappear, and can now see the truth. The mask came off right there, and Hank... man.. the acting of this scene...
just noticed something. when he says “right hand to god” he lifts his left hand. unless this is mirrored lol edit: juuuust saw the backwards credits the second i hit post on this comment. ah well let’s pretend it isn’t mirrored :b
Anybody knows why this scene is horizontally mirrored? This is cleary visible from Walts prominent mole in his face. Normally right to his nose (for the viewers) but here on the left!
The thing is if Hank were to have beat him to death right then and there not only couod he have done it hebwouod have gotten away with it. All he would have to say is that he threatened his life. They would investigate Walt as part of investigating Hank, and it would all come out.
"you bombed a nursing home", rotfl. i mean, not actually funny, but its fictional... not a common accusation to levy at your nebbish science teacher brother-in-law...
morons in this section only compliment the actors and writers, who did a phenomenal job (obviously), but fail to give the other parts of this production any credit. i think this scene is lit very well. the way hank is facing the light, giving him a pure look complimenting his blue eyes making him look as righteous as possible, pure, and vengeful. while walters eyes arent focused on as much. he one eye in the light and one eye in the dark, making him look two faced. the scars on his dark side also make it even more poetic implying he has, like vince said, turned from mister chips to scarface. now that i think of it, that punch hank gave (giving or unvealing those scars) could also be interpreted as unmasking him as scarface but i could be overanalysing it now.
Whats interesting is where Walt says "I am a dying man, who runs a car wash, my right hand to God and that is all that I am" but picks up his left hand, while saying that. Wonder if that is done purposefully.
You know I get ending the scene on the “Tread Lightly” Line was a good call but hear me out. They stare at each other tensely for about 20 seconds until Heisenberg says “Am I free to go?” and they stare at each other for a while longer as the gears turn in Hank’s head and he realizes, that not only is his brother in law the Druglord murderer you’ve been hunting but that he is gonna have to let Walt walk for the time being. And then he presses the garage door opener and they stare at eachother as the garage door opens. Then watch Hank watch Walt walk away, his face filled with so many emotions.
The evolution of Hank's character throughout the series is major too. Not to the extreme that Walt's was -but think about it. In the beginning, we're supposed to not like him. He's rude, arrogant, casually racist, always cracking the most inappropriate jokes at the most inappropriate times, and comes across as downright callous sometimes. They slowly have him show a good side as well. Have him show something Walt doesn't have - integrity. And by the end of the series he dies a hero. Well done, Vince ✅ well done ❤️🩹
Confronting Hank about the GPS tracker was one of Walt's biggest mistakes. He was handed a way to make himself seem less suspicious and instead he became aggressive and confirmed Hank's suspicions. Gus didn't do that
