Hello, i got an error with battery malfuction red and to don t towel it. Overnight the error disappered and the car now is working perfectly. Can be the 12v battery? Or something else( i didn t start the car from 1 week and this happend)
I bought one for my daughter, A4 B7 S Line and the ride comfort in that is better than my Polestar 2 ever was. I'm waiting for my RS E-tron GT Performance but I have driven one and you'd think that with that much power and attention to sportiness it would be a rough ride. It just eats it, the active suspension just eats it, it's like it wasn't even there. It's like the Citroen's of the olden days, everyone else is bumping around on the gravel road but the Audi just eats it and it feels like driving on a new concrete road.
Yes I miss the space I had in my 2007 C180 however, even when filled to the brim, the journey time remains a pleasure. I like you have absolutely no idea what its eventual replacement might be.
Yeh my subscription just expired and I cannot renew. Such a shame but think this capability for older gen Mercedes has now been removed. Which is a shame.
@@damos_cars I heard it is down to the 3G network being switched off (which most cars pre-2020 used) to make way for 5G bandwidth. Sadly this isn't compatible with the older models so most of the app functionality has slowly beeen switched off.
Struggling to get that initial holding bolt out for the clutch slip adjustment as I don't own a thin spanner, the oxygen sensor removal method may only work if you're prepared to take a chunk out of the plastic surrounding the 21mm nut as you have. Wish me luck and thank you for the very helpful upload
Great video! I agree with you about getting a bold color. I just bought an Evora 400 in solid yellow. Its stunning. There's quite a few red Ferraris here in Houston and the Evora looks absolutely different.
my mk2 TFSI has "gateway" electronics problems. been told its a common fault on these cars. wonder if you heard of this..... other than that its a fantastic bargain of a car
Good for you... It's something my brother keeps pushing to do with me, funnily enough to buy a 997. I know I could never do it with him as I know there would be one point he would try to get out of paying for maintenance, like a come time for a clutch replacement and he would pull out the "I'll pay you back next month". I also feel we would disagree on the spec of the car. My sister and I could absolutely share a car though!
It's an idea that is heading for disaster from the off. Generally, one of the two parties can't afford the car and, with the best will in the world, it will be impossible to share everything 50/50. There will be niggles and these will grow over time. If I were you, I'd step back from this sooner rather than later.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your concern, but I’d like to clarify a few points: 1. Affordability: Both of us are fully capable of affording the car. We both own other vehicles and chose to co-own this one as a mutual decision, not out of financial necessity. 2. Sharing Arrangements: We’ve been sharing the car for two months now, and so far, the 50/50 arrangement has worked smoothly. We’ve encountered no significant issues or “niggles” as you mentioned. 3. Future Considerations: While I understand your skepticism, we’re confident in our arrangement and plan to continue as we are. I’ll be sure to revisit this in six months to reflect on the progress. Thanks again for your input. It’s always good to consider different perspectives.
The quality is certainly better than an Insignia or Mondeo, but the Toyota is a characterless car and also has an ugly design. A gray mouse on the road.
As the previous owner I can vouch for this car’s history. Mechanically superb, I spent a bloody fortune on it at Bell & Colvill! And don’t trust the red in the video - it’s an absolutely banging colour in the flesh and for some reason cameras just can’t deal with it. Black pack also essential on bright coloured Evoras, and looks fantastic on this example. Best of luck with the sale Damo! 👍
I remember seeing the car advertised Damo then seeing it was sold and suddenly it appeared on your channel. It's a lovely looking car, a real eye catcher. All the very best with the sale. Cheers, Kevin
It breaks my heart whenever I return from driving from Germany, through France to join the shittery that is the standard of British driving and our appalling motorway etiquette. We don't need to spend billions on more lanes, we need to spend it on educating drivers who never received motorway training when they took their driving lessons all those years ago.
I’ve got the exact same model. Beautiful metallic blue with all of the chrome blacked out. Looks fantastic. I’ve had the battery replaced, was quoted £900 by Mercedes dealer, used an approved Mercedes garage £330! Electric range is poor. No carplay is annoying. Also, not being able to show outside temperature where it shows Kph is crazy. Like you, bought mine in 2022 for £22.5k, now worth maybe £16k tops. Can’t get the app to work. This was the first car I bought (apart from wife’s Mercedes GLC) in 30+ years as I always had company cars.
Oh good one on the battery - were you getting the error message? Mine is still on the original (I think). I don't mind not having CarPlay at just use my phone in a holder. Electric range is not great but I still think its better than none at all. Outside temp you can see you just have to scroll to the screen that has it on. My app recently stopped work as the subscribed services I had expired which I think included tracking and the remote setting of climate control. I'm undecided whether to continue with them. We just went to the South of France and back in ours and it was absolutely brilliant. Did not miss a beat.
@@damos_cars No error message, I just found that despite charging at home on a proper charger not 3 pin, the engine was kicking in almost as soon as I got off my drive. The other thing that apparently is common, my wheels now look awful. Blistered even though they looked brand new when the car was delivered. Mercedes diamond cut. 😝 Nice car to drive. I do however, find the interface annoying. Can’t operate music when the sat nav is on unless you change settings on the steering for in between the dials. I find it odd that you can skip a track on the steering wheel, the rotary wheel in the centre console by turning and pushing to one side, and a bonus, swiping the bit above the rotary wheel. Pointless.
... I've got to say I think you would probably find fault if you were given a HARRIER JUMP JET for free. You just strike me as a person who is out to find problems with anything.. like somebody else has said.. Go back to your BMW if that's what made you happy. But I didn't really get anything from your video only you bitching over the stupidest little things... You know some people can't even afford a 15-year-old for fiesta don't you..? 🤔
Hello, your video was very helpful. I had the same problem 944 S2 in that the sunroof development in position one no longer worked and the roof only opened and closed in position two. However, the fault with me was that the two microswitches were too far away from the plastic windshield, about 1 mm, and were therefore not actuated by the plastic windshield. The solution was to readjust the two microswitches and bring them closer to the plastic scraper disk. As a result, this was activated again and the roof now works perfectly again, including the locking function in position one. I wanted to make this realization known to others who may have the same error situation. Greetings Thomas
Quelle joie !
as an only car I don't think it's much of a competition. if you don't need a hatch, the reliability, parts access and safety make the MX5 the much smarter choice. the 205 would make a great 2nd or 3rd car though, and has a certain charm the MX5 simply cannot match. although personally, I am not sure if i'd feel comfortable driving around in a car with the structural integrity of paper mache as a daily. sure, an MX5 wouldn't fare well in an accident against modern SUVs bit it'd stand more of a chance than the little 205 GTI.
Completely agree. Which is pretty much how we use both these cars. I think a baked bean tin has more crash protection than a 205! I drive it with the consideration I’d apply to riding a bike, I.e. bloody carefully! Its lightweight does make it flipping fun though.
Awesome car man! I just bought a 1986 205 1.4xt as my first car. It has the twin weber carbs which is a pain in my ass but i love it😂 definitetly a dream of mine to drive a 1.6 or 1.9. Enjoy it!
@@damos_cars I sure hope so! My dad owned a 1.9 and told me Many Great stories which got me into the 205s. So having one in the future is a real dream!
I've had an unbelievably reliable BMW e89 Z4 for 8 years. Only 1 coil pack in all that time was replaced. I love this car. Would I be happy do you think? No wife, no kids, etc. 🤭
