@1:13 whoever did that transition of the comicbook photo to Christopher Reeve's face deserved a raise ! In that transition from the Cartoon to the real actor...you see **THE EXACT SAME FACE** I mean, that's just legendary ! I don't think there has ever been an actor that so perfectly embodied a character. Christopher Reeve simply IS superman. Period.
Oprah said it best, Christopher Reeve played Superman, but when you read his book Your Still Me, it's clear that you truly are a Superman. I met Chris as I new Robin Williams well, and he truly had that something special. He never gave up and fought to make a difference in the world, and that to me is a true Superman
Christopher Reeve was a blessing to this world, not just to Superman. That man was amazing. He may have been paralyzed, but he still kept high spirits and never lost his personality, humor, the man still smiled. The man was and is Superman. God bless you Mr. Reeve. You're with God and resting in Heaven. 🙏
Chris Reeve will always be the quintessential Superman, but Welling and Smallville deserve some credit for what they tried to do, specially in the earlier seasons. And... the casting of Welling and Rosenbaum was absolutely spot on.
Reeve was so good so good. The best ever to play a super hero. Despite the limitations of technology at that time (costumes, FX etc). His face, presence, physicality, humor, romantic side, vulnerable side, etc were all superb.
Pure amazingly strong storytelling like one connection between a big movie and hugely popular TV series where a legend gets a retelling and a series became in own right a legend by breaking the rules of bringing two incredible actors together who both them brought a hero to live, and then the story of that meeting is played with such an honourable take on the origins of Superman. I think Christopher Reeves is without doubt the man who brought Kal EL, Superman, and Clark Kent to live and showed a human could fly. Tom was fantastic and talented actor and was young Clark Kent in the show, and we saw this version become the Superman step by step a totally different take but definitely the simple story of Superman. Tom and Christopher were so much alike it must of had some interesting stories for the production team to figure out a script or some other ideas in telling this great story? If only Christopher had lived to film another series years later on Lois & Clack, the original series, and then Arrowverse, there is something absolutely about originality and classic moments in time for movie gold and television gold that shows good quality storytelling be it a one off or something completely different to the original it still about the actor and the origins of a character like Superman or Clark Kent a story about honestly and saving the cat up the tree or leaping taller than a single building and faster than a speeding train its the imagination of two young Jewish men who dared to dream about a man of tomorrow and steel, to George & Christopher who saved those cats from trees we thank them good bless two men of tomorrows heavily Supermen
It's tragic that they didn't interview Annette O'Toole for this short documentary. Having worked with Reeve when he actually was Superman back in "Superman III," you'd think she'd have some real insight.
The best part about RU-vid adding a feature that shows the most replayed part of the video is that I can see how many people go back to watch Christopher and Tom laugh with each other.
I promise you Christopher Reeve that I will dedicate my book to you. Having you as one of my favorite actors gave me the best years of my life away from a messed-up world. You are the one and only true Superman and when we look up to the sky we shall see you and Shout Out up in the sky it's a bird it's a plane it's Superman.
Christopher Reid is hands down the greatest Superman actor ever show movie or cartoon he’s the only one in my opinion that makes you feel like there is a diffybetween Superman and Kent he would change how he talked his body language I’ve yet to see one actor before or sense do that
This is Christopher Reeves last performance in relation to Superman. But the sad thing is most kids now believe that credit now belongs to "The Flash" god I hate bring actors back via cgi
On Smallville, Lana starts as a good character, and her relationship with Clark is cute in the beginning. But it gets to the point where I was begging for her to leave the country, or the planet or the dimension. Something I've also commented on, Lana is the most sexually active character on the show. She lost her virginity to Clark, then had sex with Jason, then had sex with Lex, she had sex with Bizarro, then Clark again. Imagine living in a town, where going to the coffee shop means you are in the same room as most if not all sex partners you've ever had.
Christopher Reeve is flying around in heaven not with wings sprouting from his shoulders but wearing a RED CAPE and a blue jump suit with a bright red and yellow S on it ! God: "Look...up in the sky..." Mary: "it's a bird !" Joseph: "its a plane !" Jesus: "it's Christopher Reeve !"
Wasnt it great... back in 1978 when the newly developed "Industrial Light & Magic" ( I.L.M. ) Lucas film's out of this world level of special effects caused such a sensation when Christopher Reeve FIRST FLEW in that movie ? He simply floated off the crystal ice shelf in his fortress of solitude with one gentle leap into the air, cape waving at the audience... People stood up as we ALL cheered and clapped ! We truly DID believe a man could fly ! As a 13 year old boy... I had tears welling up in ny eyes. Thank you Christopher Reeve. Thank you.
Personally, I am forever astounded at the legacy of the late Christopher Reeve and I hope that it continues through his paralysis foundation because it is so important for those who had to go through in life as he did in the most difficult of circumstances. I also felt sad when I saw Mr. Reeve having given his impressive performance on "Smallville" years ago as "Dr. Virgil Swann" and it was a nice way of keeping the "Superman" legacy alive as well.
I can't speak of Christopher Reeve without getting tears in my eyes..I was 11 when the 1st Superman film was released ...so, he is MY superman...always will be..m.
