Thank you for sharing this video. Great example. I'm starting to learn about this hobby, and I think this situation can also occur when applying elevator to soon, before the plane has enough speed to gain proper lift. It seems that in these situations the only solution is the use of rudder (the use of ailerons will make the tip stall even bigger).
@joaquimpedro7917 yes you are correct. Not enough speed is main reason for any stall. Only thing is you dont have much time to react when the plane is so close to the ground!
@@SathishKumar-to3ym Not necessarily. They might have the same KV rating, but the diameter and configuration of the winding may be different, which will affect the torque and power rating. In general, a 1045 should produce around 1.2 kg of thrust with 3S and plenty more with 4S. I would not go for an 1145 with 4S , as it could overload the motor and burn it out
each blade has a leading edge which is thicker and a trailing edge which is thinner and sharp. The propeller should turn in the direction where the leading edge (thick edge) faces forward, towards the direction of travel.
Hi I wanna buy VNA Analayzer for my DIY antenna Could you please share what should we do to tune our antenna? I worry even though U have the tool, I didn't understand how to properly use it
the tool is a tool to help you make the antenna perfectly tuned to a certain frequency. But you need to understand how antennas work and all the theory behind it to make a good antenna. I suggest you read and learn about EMR and how they resonate antennas first before buying a analyzer. otherwise you will be wasting your money!
Hi, I wanna build my antenna Is it that hard to make a good antenna for long range? (+10km) I didnt have any back ground in Electrical/Signal. Is there any guide to make a helical antenna? For me, the factory made ORT antenna 12turn is so expensive ($50)
@Indonesia01ian making an antenna is not that hard but having it properly tuned to a specific frequency is the hardest part. For long range it is very important to have it properly tuned or you lose the range
@@asangaghi thank you for the response I really appreciate it Currently I am using ORT Pagoda antenna for my AKK Race Ranger 1.6W 5.8G and Akk diversity module I plan to increase my footage range Could you pleasr explain a bit more abour "tuned" our DIY antenna? As a begineer, I didn't really understand the proper way to make our own antenna
@@Indonesia01ian To tune an antenna you need an antenna analyzer or a VNA. without that you dont know how well your DIY antenna is tuned to 5.8G frequency or it could have higher SWR value due to impedance mismatch. Foe short range like 2.3km tuning is not that critical but to go 10m or beyond tuning becomes crucial. if you buy a proper brand name antennas like foxeer, ,aple, TBS , those come with properly tuned from the factory.
Hello. I know I’m posting on an old video. I bought a 15 dollar triple feed patch array from Ali last month. It performed terrible at first. I decided to check the assembly of it and compared to what Martin’s design specifications call for. They used 4mm copper spacers and not 3mm like in the specs. 4mm spacer are for the smaller triple feed patch. Also the solder joints were broken at the triple feed. Finally I suspect the 50 ohm terminator was defective. I fixed all the noted issues but I have no VNA to confirm how well it’s working however my range has improved substantially with the fixes.
@IanF-FPV good to hear that you were able to fix it. Without a VNA you cant tell how much is has improved . The spacing between the two plates is very important and that affects impedance, SWR and tuned frequency
@@IanF-FPV aliexpress and banggood are both sell cheap fake patch array antennas. you have to be extremely lucky to get a genuine good one. Since you have noticed an improvement after the fix I think you have done a good job without a VNA. I use helical antennas now and I get a better range than patch antennas .
I have a few SB F405 Wing FCs installed in motor gliders but also have a few larger quads with basic GPS FCs from 2016, two of them scratch build. What I like from the Wing FC is that ESCs and everything else can be plugged in, like on my existing quads.
If you want to be sure if the sensor is precise than you need a car and drive 50 kmh and next to it your smartphone with googlemaps on and that is acurate and next to that your receiver with gps sensor and transmitter with telemetry. And don,t fotget you need an assistance that read the value of the devices and you know if it is acurate and if it is not just calibrate the sensor on the transmitter
Hello Sir. Would you share the "plans" according to which you made the antennas? And how did you manage to match it so good (the immpedance) ? Do you know what effect does the pitch (spacing between the turns) has on SWR and impedance ? I saw om calculators that with same number of turns/gain it would result in wider beam, but that seams like a "free lunch" and I know theres no such.
Hi thanks for all these thrust test videos, really helps me to choose an efficient prop for my setup. Do you mind providing a link or the brand of the 9x5EP Prop? thanks
its the percentage of the power reflected back ...more like wasted power not captured by the antenna. in the case of 1.8%, antenna has absorbed 98.2% of the power and reflected (or wasted) 1.8%
@@asangag Thank you very much for your response, but in the VNA, where do you see that 98.2% absorbed or the 1.8% lost? o Are the DBs compared against the antenna specification stated by the manufacturer?
you have to look at the table using the SWR and dB , just Google it . ideally, you want the reflected power to be 0% but that's not possible. anything under 5% is good.
Hello, congratulations on your video! I would like to ask a question, I have exactly the same radio, the same module and the same receiver, and when I access the Lua ELRS script it keeps shaking the screen for a few seconds until it stabilizes? Did you happen to go through this? They say you need to change the baud rate. How high do you set the baud rate? The other things like TLM ratio and packet rate are the same as yours. Thank you very much in advance.
It is ether a connection between the ESC and Motor . Or it could be a timing of the motor . These brushless are timed motors . If timing is off the the motor will shutter .
Hello, congratulations on the content. I wanted to ask a question, should any modifications be made to the radio? Mine is the same as yours but I can't bind it. The receiver I'm using is the r9 mm. The module and receiver firmware are correct but do not work.
No you dont need to modify the radio al all. If the firmware is compatible between module and receiver then it should bind . I also have a R9MM receiver and had no issues binding the module to that. But now I have flashed ELRS firmware on both module and R9mm and its far better than FrSky accst protocol. get massive range
did you download this firmware : www.frsky-rc.com/wp-content/uploads/Downloads/Firmware/R9/ACCST/FW-R9-ACCST-20190201.zip and this : www.frsky-rc.com/wp-content/uploads/Downloads/Firmware/R9MINI/ACCST/FW-R9MINI-ACCST_v20190201.zip
@@asangag Hello my friend! Thank you very much for your response and for sending me the files. When I tried to find the firmware on the Frsky website, I didn't find the files with the same numbering (module and receiver). But now I downloaded it and I already saved the ones you sent me. In the meantime I also installed the ELRS firmware and I'm really enjoying it. But anyway, it's good to have Frsky's files as a backup! Thank you again.
Hello my friend! I have just one more question, as we use the same module (R9M 2019) and the same receiver (R9MM) I think you will know the answer. To tell the truth, my receiver is the R9MM-OTA. Finally, are the receiver's failsafe configuration options available through the ELRS lua script? I can not find it. It doesn't appear for me, I need to set it to "no pulses" to continue the return to home configuration on the flight controller. Do you think there is something wrong?@@asangag
@@RenatoSchiavetti since R9mm or any frsky is not dedicated ELRS hardware there is no way to setup failsafe with no pulses . you have to use LQ or RSSI to setup failsafe on your FC
@@asangag very cool! What ELRS receiver are you using? I just upgraded to EdgeTX and I’m wanting to get into ELRS so I’m trying to absorb all info regarding ELRS. You’ve also got a nice looking ground station…can you do an overview of your ground station? I would love to see what you’ve got running.

Hi, what is your ESC current rating and which motor do you think I should buy. Sunnysky X2216-III 1250KV or Sunnysky X2216-III 1100KV. Looking forward to your reply :)
I always use ESC with much more current rating than the max motor current. I use 60A ESC. Thye both good motors with 1100KV you can run a bigger prop and it will be bit more efficient than the 1250KV. All depends on your application and what you are trying to achieve,
After watching your video I have decided to use this motor with 4s 40amp esc and 1045 prop. Will only do 100% on take off, after thst 75% max. Will it handle it?
I'm making a helical antenna too, and I'm wondering can you go too wide? I have made a 5 turn coil with a copper wire 3mm thick. Is the thicness too much?
Thickness of the wire does not affect the performance of the antenna that much. If you can bend the 3mm wire to get nice tight rings then i dont see a problem with using it
