As an enneagram type 9 I struggle with this a lot. I feel the type 3 deep within me. Ambitions, creative energy but my sloth takes over and I end up taking the path of least resistance and avoiding taking action. Your attitude and energy is inspiring. thank you for making the video.
Holy cow. If you know you are talking to type 5s, why are you wasting so much of our time and energy getting to the point? I was exhausted half way through and gave up without hearing one helpful thing.

I recommend toning down the act as well as the b.s. when trying to communicate with Fives, especially if you want to be taken seriously. I couldn't get past the bit from 1:25 to 1:30. To say all people of a given type are such beautiful humans and that you love them all suggests you don't know the Enneagram well and/or you wish to portray yourself in an inauthentic manner.
Well done!! I love this video and it gave me some really good tips! As a 7, I can relate to every word you said and I even thought of another strategy. Keep a ‘feels’ log. Keep track of the various emotions you feel throughout the day. This will serve a few purposes: 1. You can see how quick emotions change 2. You can see in real-time that you have just as many good emotions as negative ones. 3. You’ll be more emotionally alert 4. As a 7, I think it’ll be fun to see how much ‘feels’ you feel within a day. Get creative with the descriptions and adjectives. For example one of my feelings today was Amusement, Frustration and Stoicism. The word stoic isn’t something I use often and it made it fun for me. As a fellow 7, you cracked me up with the 4th reason, "Knowing about your feelings is FUN" 🤣🤣🤣 It is fun, but make sure you don't do it for that reason, or else you'll just corrupt the purpose of this exercise 😅😅
Purely anecdotal, but I'm finding that a third category is incredibly helpful: Stressors. They're draining to start but the profit from doing them gives more energy than it initially takes. So doing these is good, but only on a relatively full energy tank.
I'd like to add something that can't be overstated. I believe most type 5s are malnourished. 5s neglect diet and tend to genetically have poor methylation. Also stress depletes key nutrients quickly. I'd bet my bottom dollar that over 95 percent of 5s are malnourished. Maybe low in zinc, magnesium, b vitamins, real natural vitamin C. Taking the right supplements and getting your diet right will fix half of your problems.
I’m single and I don’t even try to date anymore. Haven’t in a year. before my last dude I hadn’t dated in many years. I just don’t plan on marrying or having kids and I gave it up
Yeah I type up a custom reply, but I usually find it easier to just have the same paragraph that I had typed to send to families. I have gotten a lot of jobs :) I find that sending a professional paragraph looks more sophisticated than my just making my own stuff I think it’s so interesting you want their guard to be down whereas other families like my current job, wanted to see if I could stay composed when they acted cold and Stoney haha. my current family did a video chat and then met me in person at their house Also, just because nannies receive a job too, doesn’t mean they’ll end up going and taking the offer. I require a written agreement before accepting the offer. And depends what they’re willing to add to the agreement Because that determines if I would be able to have that long term position I want :) For nannies, as parents are being selective, you can be also. If you catch a bad vibe (like if families catch a bad vibe) you can rightfully go with another family such as one welcoming like this one etc. if they give off very controlling vibes like the home has to look a certain way, baby can’t get messy at all and you can’t just clean after any messes, they believe you can’t have ANY mess, you don’t take it!! if they try to skimp on paying for quality care and try to pay a very low rate, feel free to skip! :) just as much as parents need quality nannies we need quality families too :) so I like to ask “what makes you a good employer?” I like to see if they offer me water when I’m in their home. Do they glare at me the whole interview. Etc

1. want to do things correctly, to be right not wrong, to be respected and seen as good 2. want to be worthy of love, to hear that they are loved, doing things for others so they deserve love 3. want to be seen as successful and perfect so that they can be worthy of love 4. want to be special and authentic and be loved just for who they are 5. want to be competent, capable, respected, to know their needs are not a problem, afraid that they would run out of energy 6. want to have security and guidance, want to know who they can trust, they see worst case scenarios all the time 7. want to be satisfied and happy and safe and not bored, jumping from one adventure to another 8. want to protect people and themselves, fear of being controlled and vulnerable, need to have a sense of control 9. want to have peace, don't want conflicts, fear losing connection with others, they go with the flow, forget what their own desires are
Interesting! I find 2s exhausting and overly emotional 😂 3s like to talk so much, haven’t met a lot of 4s. I do enjoy debating with 8s and I think 7s are fun.
I’m 22 and am pretty young to be into the enneagram, because most of the people I see are usually older and not in their 20s. I keep thinking I’m a 9, but I might just not know myself well enough. 🤷🏻
