I din't know much about Irish music but I know Star of the County Down and a few Irish ones from The Kelly Family. Your version really touched me and would love to listen to more of your music. Thank you.
Toronto here. Two sets of GGGrandparents came from County Down in 1819. Most Irish music is so wonderfully joyful. It is a gift to the whole world - even Slovakia! This melody is also used as a beautiful hymn tune, Kingsfold.
It has always been hard for me to believe those place were real. I know they are, but that luring mystery of your countryside is incomparable to anything else.
