Marched with him in college and some of my fondest memories involve this fine gentleman. One of the funniest people I know and a hell of a tenor player.
You got a spot for sure!! Please make sure you continue to grow also remember the best way to show skills is playing everything a a slower pace showing control.. Often I see people ram but can’t play at slower paces.. But 👏
Well some things changed and I ended up auditioning for Bluecoats. I was one spot away from a contract! And it was really only my lack of DCI experience that kept me out, which is totally understandable. They said I had the hands though, and that if I came back after marching somewhere else, I could march until ageout (3 or 4 seasons). So for my first DCI audition process everrrrr, and not even expecting a callback, I think it went really well. Also, it was kind of good that I did not get contracted this season, since I'd be missing a lot of school related stuff (prom, basically the last month of high school for me, and all of the senior stuff that happens at the end) plus the summer before freshman year of college at WKU, which I would like to have haha. As for NEXT season, I have yet to make a 100% decision as to where I'll audition. There's a lot of stuff that I'm still open to, and I'll use this season to narrow it down. But yeah, had a great time auditioning and I already can't wait to do it again next year, hopefully coming out with a contract. ;)
Haha idk man itd be hard for me to get used to their technique. I mean to each his own, I was just taught the Rennick way, which is completely different from McNutt's style
Steve Craft Yeah, I didn't get the chance to go and check out their show, since I stayed in the lot and hung around some other groups. I was there with my school, we got 2nd at A Finals :) but yeah, tuning was pretty weird live, i wasn't really sure how I felt about it, but I just enjoyed it for what it was. Tried to liven things up by yelling "Yeah!" lol.
