You can only use the plates for the purpose you write on your application form. For example, if you say they’ll be used for customers to test drive vehicles for sale, they cannot be used for other purposes. A full list of things you can use the plates for is included in the ‘guidance notes’ section of the application form for a licence. How to display your trade plates When you display trade plates, you must: put them on both the front and back of the vehicle, or just the back for motorcycles make them visible and easily readable from a distance of 20 metres put them on the outside of the vehicle not cover the existing number plates, unless it’s a motorcycle. The trade plates MUST be fixed to the outside of the vehicle are must NOT be displayed inside a windscreen or rear window. This is an offence.
Be very careful when you’re out and about driving, so many drivers now have a dashcam, I bought a front and rear dashcam for my birthday for my safety because unfortunately there are so many crazy drivers out there and I can use the dashcam footage as evidence if anything ever happens, I’d only use my dashcam to report someone if I really had to.
I just want something to combat camera tickets as I don’t think they are fair at all. If I get pulled over for speeding? Fair game. (Then don’t speed?) No. in America we do what we want 🇺🇸
It's the wild west out there for number plates now. Strange fonts, 3D gel type, tinted coverings, obscured by bike racks, trailers with homemade plates, and of course incorrectly spaced letters/numbers. Also see a lot of motorbikes with tiny homemade plates that are mounted at crazy angles. Of course winter is coming so many will soon again be caked in dirt and unreadable. They seem to get away with all of this now.
I had been driving with show plates on my car for 3 months because I had that many shows going on, I couldn't be arsed putting my UK legal ones on every time after a show. Never once got stopped by police. I see many other cars without front number plates too. The police don't seem to care or have the time to deal with it anymore.
The police only shows up when money for the government is involved or when a certain part of the population have their feelings hurt. Otherwise they won't
THIS IS EVERYDAY BEHAVIOUR FOR A LOT OF MOTORISTS NOWADAYS. YOU CAN LITERALLY LOOK IN ANY ROW OF WAITING TRAFFIC AND YOU WILL SEE PEOPLE USING A MOBILE PHONE. EVEN WITH ALL THE HANDS FREE TECHNOLOGY THAT WE ALL HAVE ACCESS TO.
ALL MOTORISTS filmed within this movie have been issued Prosecution Notice by the Police: 6 points on their driving licence for 4 years, which they have to declare to their insurance company and in turn their annual insurance premium will be increased (for 4 years) together a fixed £200 fine. NOTE: if the driver already has 6 points on their license from other offences, like speeding, they will be summoned to COURT for a hearing and could face more severe sentence by a COURT JUDGE. * THE M6 MOTORWAY night scene: I will be attending the police headquarters for West Midlands Police to find out if the driver was dealt with correctly by the Police / Courts. I will be follow this up shortly with a new MOVIE and film footage from the Police Station and ask RICHARD GUTTRIDGE @ Birmingham MAIL Live NEWSPAPER to follow this up with the Birmingham MAIL newspaper: if the Police and Courts are handling this matter correctly.
You can make all the laws you want but if you don't enforce them then they mean nothing. I don't even have to go outside to catch them. I can see them in a row of traffic talking, texting away. Everyone watching this knows they could walk up and down any queueing traffic and see the same.
Yes, I send all videos into the Police, it takes time but it’s worth it. The Police always reply back to me with a positive outcome. Thank you for sharing your thoughts
Yes, all these original video clips are sent into to the police. There’s a delay of about a month to six weeks before I can post them on the channel as the Police require time to prosecute the driver for the offence. But most of my videos are online at some later time to show the state of our highways.
I still remember times in '80's when my father used to light up a cig while driving. Believe me that looked scary because he was not concentrating on driving but fully on his addiction. We had no belts and I was sitting on the back seat leaning towards the front for better view. My father was a good driver after all and we did do all these bad things only because we were not aware of potential consequences of doing so and this was just a common practice on roads. This video shows clearly there are people who care and I'm one of them. Forced education at first, then prison sentences if it does not happen. The only question is : who is going to keep this under controll ? Police ? 🤣
There was a study done a few years ago at MIRA. One the details that came out was that a person who had consumed some Alcohol to being just below the legal level to drive, concentrated more than a sober person on their phone. Who do you want to be driving alongside?
I think confiscate the vehicle for a month, +6 points and a fine, we don't have spare prison capacity - but we do have car parking capacity. 😀😎 (repeat offences carry a doubling of the confiscation period).
Another entertaining video from Vosa. I agree with the 5 year prison sentence idea, but I am not sure if the stupid people will stop this behaviour . There are still idiots driving whilst under the influence of drink and / or drugs, some people still do not wear their seatbelt, some people do not have a crash helmet whilst riding a motorbike or moped , I have seen this myself. It would be interesting if you get an update from the police about the drivers in your video and if they were prosecuted. 👍
Jails would fil up and more jails would need to be built to house them! Instant 2 year driving ban! Unfortunately the phn is an addiction, drivers who do, still would!
Well if the person with Tiff owns or is the current owner of the vehicle it lies with them not the responsibility of Tiff, if you test drive a car from a dealer you do not take your own trade plates do you. So the videois really created for your own opinion of the law and to get views.
Don’t care who you are … all vehicle number plates are LEASED from DVLA. the driver MUST adhere to Government regulations and display the correct vehicle registration number on the “outside” of the vehicle (or trade plates if used for selling whilst test driving FOR SALE. There are no exceptions: Leaflet 104 from the DVLA clearly states legislation. The 2 people in this Red car should know better ! Sent in to the DAILY MIRROR newspaper
The production team and Toff, should know better. I wonder if he kept to the speed limits like all the other sports car idiots. Not a practical car for school or tip run. 👍
The police need to be stopping these motorists and handing out rectifiers. If i was in charge, i'd operate a 2 strike rule. First offence, get it sorted within 14 days (owners can replace the plates with the legal ones they probably use for when the vehicle is MOD'd). Second offence, plates are removed and destroyed at the road side and the car gets towed to an impound yard until recified. After 30 days, car is sold or crushed if not rectified/re-claimed.
Superbly composed and produced clip, Should be used on national tv as public information film like we use to get many years ago instead of companies trying to sell us rubbish.
The state and DVLA are nothing but organized pirates taking from the poor and giving to the elite. I say good on anyone that can out pirate the reals pirates.
