This only shows a small percentage of the stormwater management infrastructure in a city and makes it seem boring. Theres all kinds of catch basins/gullies, also stormwater networks can be large enough to drive a car through, she really should’ve known this as it would’ve been more engaging.
They really need to start making a new law where it is required that you be a registered builder or a registered building certifier to inspect buildings. These professions require degrees (certifier) or many years experience in the field (builder), instead you got some guy who completes a 1 year diploma and now his an inspector lol. You see it so much here its really dumb.
Building inspections are absolutely necessary. The general public have no idea what it actually takes to build a home. Because you have watched HGTV 24/7/365 you think you are well informed? HGTV guys use the wrong vocabulary and cut corners. (That's why they have had several shows get sued) Contractors building homes for profit, they are in it for PROFIT! They higher the cheapest subs available to perform a minimally satisfactory job. You would not believe the stuff they try to get away with or think is acceptable. Trust me, you want your home inspected by the city. It will save you 8000 dollars in future repairs. You say "Oh my home comes with a warranty", well if its not within the first year good luck with that.
Bravo to you Dave. The first person I’ve read with a thinking and informed mind. Most of the whiny comments are just that. People don’t take the time to properly get informed about the things they complain about. God Bless.
he was fixated on the fact the ice level was fine and if it wasn't he'd have to bring out the hose, build it like plywood, (only if its low) what about the fact that sometime the depth is to thick and you have to cut, hence the figure 8's as previously mentioned
Building permits do nothing for you they inflate the cost of the job he said 8000.00 just think if you could put that 8000.00 towards your kitchen or bathroom , Your house your land your money and you have to ask the city for permission to build and pay them too you have to be kidding.
Judging from all the bad comments I figured the building inspectors are doing their job and pointing out the flawed construction. Nothing worse than getting information on RU-vid and build structures that would fall on your head and torched your damn barns. I agree that most inspectors do not have the expert knowledge of some of the builders. Notice I said some. The majority of people who builds your home today were picked up in the morning at the local Home Depot. Think about that before you knock the inspectors. An extra pair of eyes looking over the most expensive investment of your life is better than none.
NOT impressed with the worker taking apart the hydrant & placing parts on the grass!!! Perhaps placing the parts on a sheet to protect internal parts that are connected to the potable water system ( drinking water ) ??? This may protect the public from all kinds of debris, dirt or even pet urine or fecal matter ?!?
This video is just an informal way to do the job . You should try to keep the parts off the grass so you don’t lose them. The video shows them cleaning all the parts correctly
@@erwinali7600 it may not be a topic the average person. Thinks about, but the water for a fire hydrant is the very same water you drink. The water in an office sprinkler system to stop fires is also just the very same water as we drink.
This is comedy. ....right? A building inspector (overpaid with little training) looking over the plans (of an architect, trained in his field), reading a spec sheet for the trusses (of a truss manufacturer, liable if the trusses fail) to visually verify (read a truss plan, schedule) that the trusses are correct (because he can tell if it's incorrect). Give me an effing break. Lol. The floor truss. The most unacceptable way, of any, to correct the problem. .....but it meets minimum code. That area has a high probability of future leaks.....let's make it easier for the repairman and box it out, ......you know, .......like a professional would do it? Not how a building inspector or plumber thinks it should be handled. In 30 years, that bathroom will probably be remodeled. Leak starts 1 year later. Repairman comes in and sees the floor truss cut....the basement probably has drywall installed, so he can't see the truss that is carrying the load or doesn't know that this was approved.....because no one down at the building department documented anything. .....but they got paid $8000 to inspect it.
Excellent video! You literally got right down in there! I also have a catch basin video I've done you can check out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gz-GB8w22ww.html
that stuupod yu got to have a permit from thecity to work on your OWN house ??? whats the point of owning your own house if you still have to answer to skmeone
Unlike most finished products, concrete building inspection is most effective when it's on site and under construction process. How you process the concrete afterwards, the vibrators schedule etc is basically a final result.
