Life saver :-) I also had to swap the +/- wires after the conclusion that the standard repair didn´t work. Had a high volume beat and a not charging battery though the indicator showed loading. Also a good explanation how to detach the wires from the connector.
Interesting. I definitely have a Charge 2+ but the chassis design is significantly different. There’s six screws which remove a panel that exposes the battery, but that compartment doesn’t let you access the connector (the additional two screws to get the compartment out aren’t there, the battery cavity is molded into the chassis).
I replaced mine, but it started cracking after less than a year of usage as if the battery wasn't able to give the output needed for higher volume. I wish I knew were to find a decent battery or at least create my own with a stack of batteries or something...
When inserting the new battery, you should have some cushions that the new battery doesn't rattle with the base. You can also see it on the old battery.
Did you have a cracking/popping noice at higher volumes with the previous battery? My speaker has this problem and when it happens, battery percentage display suddenly drops. The speaker is practically unusable. I opened the speaker and saw the battery bulge. Do you think replacing the battery will solve the issue? Or this could be a more complicated one?
@@dronover I couldn't find a good replacement battery. So I made a DIY battery using 2 Li-Ion cells. There's a different video showing the steps. However even that didn't solve the issue. For a good 10 minute or so, I thought everything was fixed. But it reappeared. Maybe my soldering job was bad or something. The battery itself could've been the issue. But I have no definite proof to confirm the same.
the batery you received from china its model GSP1029102R. i received a GSP1029102(without "R") and i received with the same position of th + and - as you. I tried to change it but stil does not work. does mean i need to buy a new batery with the "R" at the en of the model number???
One option is to go to ebay and search for "jbl charge 2 plus battery". Remember to note seller's account age and amount of total feedback and it's ratio.
When you buy battery from online and replace it, initially it won't swich on. In that case remember to swap the first second with fourth and fifth. For JBL charge 2+ battery I recommend to buy from AliExpress ( for india). Cheers man.
YEP!! Same for me...switched them around and BAM!!! I love it when tech works... AliExpress does it AGAIN!!! Here's your AE link... www.aliexpress.com/item/4000610547320.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dK1araa
