@@povilaslondon yes mate, £245 plus the cost of return shipping. It may be a bit more in 2024, but worth every penny and turnaround time was about 3 days.
Hey man! Nice rev matching action! In my experience nothing beats some manual downshifts, blippers are not quite there yet. Not to mention that it's more involving... what's your take on this? Also, did you get a chance to test ride a gen 2 bike? Cheers!
Much obliged! I've tried some really good blippers, but at this point it's pretty redundant for me and also not very satisfying. I might change my mind if I ever try the technology on a trackway, though… I never got the chance to try a gen 2, but at the same time not dying to do so as they both have the same glorious motor. The only thing I'm curious about are the acoustic vents on the top of the tank-the induction howl sounds awesome in PoV videos!
@@ubergregmoto For track work, yeah, it's one less thing that you have to focus on, potentially making you faster. The MT Tour is coming to my city this April, I've booked a test on the SP versions of the 09 and 10, hopefully I can shoot some nice audio / video and get a feel of the bikes...
@@mt-10addiction looking forward to your thoughts on the gen 2 when the vid drops, as you're someone who's actually lived with a gen 1. I really enjoyed the previous gen 09 SP I tried a few years ago, too.
whats the best way to canyon carve these? you cant just hold emopen in the sweet spot like on a smaller engine cause suddenly you goin too fast a pace! maybe in mode 3 ? Im thinking of returning it to the original pre 2022 lower gearing I keep up with better riders with heavy breaking and heavier acceration to midigate any advantage they had in the corners....Oh please brakes! Stop us!!!
I keep the throttle map in mode 1 at all times-the fuelling is aggressive, but pretty consistent and gives the best response. On the tighter roads, I’m quite happy to keep the engine just below the sweet spot (so between 4 and 6k rpm) when coming out of corners which blunts the snappiness a bit but gives me access to to all the torques if I hang onto it a bit longer. Mostly though, if I want to really up the pace I’ll just keep it above 6k as much as possible, but this is rare on all but the most open, well-sighted roads. I’d probably be very naughty on those American canyon roads I always see in other videos-the roads are wider and you can see a lot farther. Replace stock brake pads with sintered ones and we’re onto a winner!
These beasts are so bloody fast they are just scary! Zipping around blind turns I really worry there might be something there and no time to stop! A crash? A cow? A deer? a drunk on the wrong side? VBut then if you ride sanely and reserved where the motor is barely breathing it is like "WHY do I own this beast HOW long will you hold that throttle open? The indicated MPH just flies across the screen and suddenly there is g force wind and and blurred visions have ask is this even FUN? Is it FUN to be terrified? WHY do I HAVE this thing even? There are 6 gears with a LOT of acceleration avaialable upon each shift! How long shall I hold her open? Damn 123 mph? I didnt mean to do THAT! Oh shit is a copper around? Amd I gonna get busted? or DIE? But wait this is TAME! Its the f*ckling R1 that is NUTS! 200hpish? 200mph? All tucked in? WTF?? How many people REALLY understand what is going on here?? lol Vast majority? clueless....they might crap they drawers!
Yeah, these hedge-lined UK roads mean it’s impossible to commit to the corner. I’ve encountered all the above surprises (and so much more). And boy, is this thing fast-too much for these kinds of roads, honestly. But still huge fun, mostly because of that engine 😍
Oh my God! It's not too noisy now? ....Only on the video it's loud! You're going to have to replay it on the bench for your loss of torque down there, aren't you? I'm telling you, we've got a gangster bike! 😂😉✌️
@@ubergregmotoMine's back in order, phew!...zero filings when I changed the running-in oil, my second running-in is finally complete, she's farting 🔥 I'd love to get rid of the cat, but here in France, it's time for the technical inspection, it's dead. I only have the Arrow exhaust without the chicane. We'll be happy to ride together if you come to the Ardennes in France.
@@Zurluk glad to hear everything is good with the bike, I would be crying if this happened to mine... I would also be crying if I couldn't remove my cat-this is how the bike is meant to sound! I will be touring Europe in June. I might visit France for part of the trip, and if I do I will let you know 👊
Hey Mate, Im a bike enthusiast.Im from india, rn in london and i want to visit this place. Ik this depends, but still can you suggest me when is the best time/day to visit this to see the best line-up?
Hello mate, the weekend is probably the best time to go, with lunchtime being a good time of the day to see the place buzzing. And of course if the weather is dry then you're likely to see the most bikes come through the place. The cafe itself is a great place to visit, no matter what time you drop by, but a dry Saturday or Sunday will probably have the biggest buzz 👌
Hey Crunchy, sorry to hear about the surgery-missing a few vids is the least of anyone's worries… do look after yourself and I hope there's a chance in the very near future to put things right. My pops is in a similar situation and looking to do a follow up op to try and improve things. Fingers crossed for you.
Can't lie, the economy is... not good. But for me, personally: Worst mileage: 144 km from full to nearly empty (race track, up to 230kph, two times per lap) Best mileage: 283 km from full to empty (motorway touring)
Mate, since owning this bike: - I have taken out a separate line of credit, just for my petrol - I have my own personal tanker that follows me around - The petrol stations in my area all send me Christmas cards - I'm on a first-name basis with all the Saudi oil barons - When I store my bike for the winter the price of oil in my country drops Seriously, I get worse fuel economy than the family car, but when I twist grip back, it's so, so worth it 😍
I vaguely remember what it was like to ride... 😂😂😂 Great roads, a visit to a proper castle and a cold pint at the end of the day. Nowt much better than that. 👌
I feel you, man. I think it was almost 30° C that day. Absolutely glorious weather, the bike was working beautifully and I had a Tuono V4 for company. An epic day...
The Yammy sounded extra spicy that morning-it was in its happy place! I loved that ride, but I could've squeezed coal into diamond on some of those sections 🫣
hi Greg always a pleasure to watch your ballads, even if I have the same one as you😄😉... I'm thinking of getting a Blipper installed, I've found a serious reference, still thinking... See you soon ✌️
If I were able to do regular track days I would definitely get a blipper on mine-my focus this year is to get it remapped again, I miss all that extra mid range! If you do get a blipper, will you let me know which one, and if you like it?
Nice vid and great sound. Have you tested the new mt10, and if yes, would you say it is a much better bike than the previous gen? Sold my Tuono and got a ninja 1000sx now, but Im very tempted to get an mt10 as my 2nd bike.
Cheers, fella 🙌 I haven't had a chance to try a gen 2 model yet; I asked for a test ride when they first came out, but no one had any demos. If you've ever tried the gen 1 MT-10 and liked that, then I'm sure you'll like the gen 2 even more. I'd want one for its IMU, better electronics, even better fit and finish and the new acoustic system built into the tank section.
