@4:30 Me watching this scene in 2006: “what a sadly romantic moment.” Me watching this scene now: “JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! WTF?! WHAT IS THIS?! FUCKING FUCK!”
The fact that Danny kept calling Jordan is not unlike the Seinfeld episode called "The Pilot" where NBC President Russell Dalrymple kept calling Elaine. The situation was reversed in Studio 60 with "The Network President"* being the recipient of the date requests. *That would be a good title for "Studio 60" if Aaron Sorkin had made it a feature film.
Lol it’s funny to see I commented on this 3 years ago: I still love them as a couple so much but now I’m a doctor who actually delivers babies and OMG A CONTINUOUS FETAL HEART RATE OF 80 ISNT A CRACK JOKES SCENARIO THATS A PROLONGED DECEL GET THEM TO C-SECTION NOW YOU MORONS 😜😜
I love this ship, but urgh, this part of their arc where he basically bullies her into going out with him has always made me so uncomfortable. Even in 2008 I can't believe they thought this was a good idea to put in the show!
Honestly the "adopt her" scene is one of my favourite scenes in all of television but going to Med school has kind of taken the shine off in such a weird way. Like now I watch and I'm like "that's terrible bedside manner, why is a 37 week pregnant woman in the ER and not the caseroom, no good doctor would explain an emergency c-section like that and you're conscious in a c-section, you'd have seen the baby in the OR and Danny could have joined you." Still brings tears to my eyes though :)
Doctors like this certainly exist though. Before my emergency c section the doctor said “we’re going to do a c section now, they’ll prep you. We’re gonna take her out the sunroof” and then he walked off.
I've had a baby wrapped up in their cord, and also had pre-eclampsia (different pregnancies) and this scene makes me cringe so much! My experiences were moving like this, thankfully! I was fortunate to have really good medical teams working with me both times.
