I think because the combat phase ended, the first two myriad tokens never deal damage and because of how myriad works those would have been exiled at the end of the original combat phase. Illusionist gambit "resets" combat by giving an additional combat phase after the no damage phase.
I think you're right, illusionists gambit never specifies that the combat ends, but if we go through the motions after the declare blocker step we get to end of combat, then the myriad tokens get exiled and the new combat begins. So everything was done right.
Thanks, much appreciated. I checked out your be'lakor list too and I'm liking your inclusion of Big Score and Unexpected Windfall for ramp and card draw. Those cards can pull double duty in a big way.
@@spelltablesplits Yeah bro, I can’t wait! Just picked up a few of the kickstarter secret projects to tie me over until then! On the topic of the cosmere have you seen the Grand Abolisher secret lair card based off stormlight archives? Read the description text on it if you haven’t!
Just subscribed. Can you please turn the music lower in future videos. I understand it fills in the gaps, but it's loud enough that it's not just background noise anymore
Love gyruda. Currently my commander for clone/mill. Running things like etb doublers, voidwalker for dealing with anti mill, and then mortuary for an infinite combo to insta mill the decks. Kozilek for not milling myself out of course.
That deck sounds dope. If not for some piloting errors this game gyruda makes it so explosive. I also like to keep a good "I win" button so mortuary just sounds like great include
The copy was made with Yenna, Yenna reads: Choose target enchantment you control that doesn’t have the same name as another permanent you control. Create a token that’s a copy of it, except it isn’t legendary. If the token is an Aura, untap Yenna, Redtooth Regent, then scry 2. Activate only as a sorcery. So the token isn't legendary
Hell yeah an eagles fan and good magic account! Def getting a follow. Also Thanks wil for giving me hope for voltath, wanted to build him but ever video I’ve watched on him the deck just sits there and yours was actually fun to watch
GO BIRDS!...appreciate the support here. Will really came out to play in this one, I definitely recommend building it out because volrath is so versatile and there are so many creatures in the color combo that should never have 7/5 P/T...enter Scute Swarm
Great Game! Love to see Volrath in action. Such a versatile and interesting commander imo. I did mutate with my Volrath deck but I really like Will's take on the deck. Thanks for the video!
Great game! I’ve been brewing a Brenard deck recently and your deck looked like it was really fun to play. Thank you for the video, looking forward to the next one!
David shouldn't have been able to sacrifice his Cursed Mirror copying The Locust God to his Goblin Engineer because it isn't an artifact - it becomes a copy of the creature and isn't an artifact any more. It doesn't retain the name and type of the Warform. I'm a Mishra player and you've got to remember the ins and outs of all of these little interactions. EDIT: Here's how it goes, in case anyone's confused: You go to combat. Mishra's ability triggers. A copy of Cursed Mirror that's a 4/4 artifact creature named Mishra's Warform enters. Then, Mishra's Warform (Cursed Mirror)'s ability triggers. It becomes a copy of The Locust God and is no longer a 4/4 artifact creature named Mishra's Warform.
Thanks for the explanation. I get how the interaction works, it was just a misplay. Will try to catch it next time during the game. Appreciate the heads up.
I agree, I do what I can but it doesn't always work out especially in some of the earlier episodes. Feel free to join the discord for some games, it'll help if you have your full decklists
Weird question but with the flashback cost on strike it rich, wouldnt you get 1 goblin since mana value of card is 1. Even though mana cost of flashback is 3?
Great video, man! I appreciate the clear explanation. This is the closest thing I have found so far to the pile of cards I pulled to consider for my version, so its been a great reference to playtest and help me make cuts/additions.
@@spelltablesplits Nothing as of right now. Just now getting my first real chance to get into it. I definitely have some pet cards and cards I bought for an aristocrats Lathril deck and a Tatsunari deck that I've yet to try out that. Heres a few I am considering: Bloom Tender, Priest of Forgotten Gods, Fallen Ideal, Doomwake Giant, Agent of Erebos, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Plumb the Forbidden, Pest Infestation, Pestilence, and Tainted Aether.
@@spelltablesplits Also, if you get a chance to respond, I am curious what your main wincons are. Is it usually through drain effects from sacrificing creatures or some amount of combat damage mixed in?
Drain or combat damage but through making infinites. There are a few paths to making infinite enchantments or infinite creatures. Meanwhile you can still grind the table down through normal drain if you don't get to an infinite.
