Sounds nice and I'd love to see it with the quick shifter fitted not too mention velocity stacks, ecu etc (farkin awesome). I won't be touching ours for a while as we get 2year unlimited km warranty (Australia). How awesome is that Mrs riding with me and hers is getting delivered either Monday or Tuesday and mine in a month + (Gold is literally easier to find than a new 40th anniversary 500. LITERALLY) Wednesday Thursday are days we are both going for the licence (learners for 3months before I can ride zx4rr zx6r etc)
I am a beginner and purchasing the same bike, are those side mirrors more functional then the ones it comes with? if so where did you get them? I heard the stock mirrors aren't that good. Much appreciated, I'm nervous and excited!
@@realjvega alright for starters don’t be scared start easy don’t go highways learn the bike before you go fast the mirrors are not at all good they are more of a look for the bike then practical the factory mirrors are okay but stick out far and look ugly I would recommend getting the Ninja 300 mirrors they are shorter and look better on the bike and have a slightly bigger window to see you can probably get them on Amazon
@@Pstreetz haven’t had any issues. Just regular oil changes, ordered a new rear tire (Michelin Road 6) and adjusted my chain slack @ 8,500 miles. My bike is stock with a $100 ebay slip on. lol but other than i treat it like a regular vehicle. Keep your chain as clean as you can every 500 miles clean that shit. I got friends who clean there bikes chain every weekend. Chain slack is very very important too man. When I adjusted mines I was out of tolerance by 14mm. Manual calls for 20-30mm range I was at 45.
@@GhadSpeed How are those Michelins feeling on the 500? I had the Road 5 on my past bike, they didn't seem to have the best rep, but I think as a commuter, even in rain, it was super solid. I wanted to switch to them, but I'm only as 3,800 miles on my bike right now.
@@NPurvis7622 I haven’t received them yet but it should be here right after Labor Day. I’m sure they’ll run good as hell. I researched on Reddit of what tire I should get. The 500 is a daily bike so ima need a tire that will last a good long time.
Euro 5 is only for emissions and has nothing to do with limiting horsepower. You are probably thinking of the tiered licensing they have to go through, an A2 license is restricted to 47bhp or ao
@@StreakSRM yes a2 is but also the euro 5 does have a higher limit then American emissions such as egr and o2s when adding theses addition it does in fact restrict the motor more along with the fact they arnt able to modify as easy due to rules and regulations
Lmao okay. Find me one article saying euro 5 is why it has less HP. You won't because that's not how it works. The bike is designed to the most restrictive emission standard (Euro 5+), and that bike is released everywhere. Horsepower is easily restricted with a different ECU map for Europe to hit a specific target (A2). A perfect example is the zx-4rr, why did the euro version make way more horsepower than the one we got? Because Canada and California had more strict regulations. Did they change the entire bike? No the North American version just got a more restrictive ECU map.
@@StreakSRM this is not my point I said yes a2 but euro 5 does cause a factor in it as well look up any video on exhaust systems the second you take a cat out it makes more power less restrictions for the engine to flow that’s what I’m talking about I have friends that live in Europe they can’t just go and cut an exhaust off or buy a catless pipe yes ecu is most of the reason as to why they make different power but at the end of the day they can’t modify like you can in the states
Well done bro Your bike looks awesome. That colour looks really good. I have not seen any other colours apart from the black here in Aus. Stay safe and enjoy
In Australia it's 2year warranty when Kawasaki service and 1 year when you do it. I thrash my bikes and the peace of mind is worth it (1000km or 600miles then not again until 12,000kms so you do the math)
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 I’m a mechanic myself and just prefer service myself so I know it’s fine right shops around me don’t take care in the work they do my buddy has a h2 and took it to the dealer and we found bolts lose and missing
@@Pstreetzdamn. I would be working on my own bike from that point on too. That's a shame to hear about that dealer. I change my oil etc but at log book intervals I take in due to the warranty being a bit longer in Australia. Even husky 2years if road registratered (but I think 6 months on the 300/350 bikes as classed as dual sport under Husqvarna warranty). Stay safe ❤ from Australia
Fantastic bike. Got mine 2 months ago. The seat height is about as low and approachable as you can get on a sports bike, and the seating position is SUPER comfortable while still looking sporty. Don't obsess with break in. As a newer rider, It's got enough punch that you can have a ton of fun without going over 6-8k rpm. A race from red to the speed limit while keeping the revs low is A TON OF FUN! You're gonna feel fast af. Just don't ride it to the max everywhere. If you go over 7K RPM a few times, it's fine! No problem. Vary the throttle, don't spend a ton of time on the freeway, and don't get too fixated with break-in. Yes, the engine needs to seat. Yes, you don't want to get too carried away with it. Just ride it like you're going to day to day, don't spend a ton of time in the high revs, and change that oil out at 600 miles. It's gonna be full of metal shavings.
@@cirrusgaming7078 well said🫡 funny you say that at the end mine actually didn’t have any shavings in it I even used a magnet and checked the oil still looked a bit fresh as well nice caramel color
@@Pstreetz Saw the comment before video got far in, and yeah, they recommend that oil change at 600, but I didn't get any shavings either. I did get a small leak at the drain plug during one hard ride, so I'm guessing I over pressurized the system, I still don't know all that much about the slipper clutch, it feels really weird to me, but I'm guessing it was a factor along with hard shifting, haven't leaked since. It's a great engine for sure. I got mine in April and have 3,800 miles on it, super reliable. Gotta love Kawasaki's reliability and ergonomics.
No, the Ninja 500 is NOT the best bike or anyone. Fact is, it's not even a 500cc, but a 451cc. Kawasaki can't stand the competition from the CFMOTO 450SS, which has better tech, better warranty and looks better than the Ninja 500. So they decided to make a fake 500 bike to compete. But reality is, Kawasaki could have done so much better, rather than just exaggerate a model number. While the looks are revised from the 400, it's not drastic, so it's really an outdated look.
@@user-rl4ow4kh1s the Kawasaki makes more power factory and after market don’t get me wrong the 450 is a great bike but…. Also if it ain’t broke don’t fix it the 400 went over amazing
@@Pstreetz Should have kept the 400 until they could design someone better. And if they were doing only a 451, they should call it a 450 or 451. 500 makes me think that Kawasaki doesn't believe their riders are overly intelligent.
hi great vid! I'm a beginner rider, I'm looking to my first bike either the ninja 400 or 500. I'm only 5'5 do you think the rider Hight is the same and the updates are enough to upgrade? thx
@@realjvega I would rec the new 500 more power will have better upgrades down the road u will also be making a video next week on the 500 class bike ninja, cbr , cfmoto and others so stay tuned for that to see if there may be another bike in class you like
Literally the 500 is perfect for you. I have a 29" in seam and almost same height and I can ground (first bike I can touch the ground lol). You will love this bike. Please do a learner course or equivalent and be safe. NO REGRETS FROM MY PURCHASE and you don't hear anyone complaining
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 I’m doing my msf course next week So I’m excited about that and yea I will not mess around with safety. I appreciate your input 🤜🏽🤛🏽 ty
@@moto.nyc718 haha thanks dude love your videos and they are for looks other then that they are not functional I’m in the process of trying to 3d print spacers for the mirrors because at the moment all you can see are your hands on the bar lol
Unfortunately, friend, we can't remove the service light. Page 69 in the manual says it can only be reset by a dealer. I have called multiple dealers, and all have said it will come up at 6000km or 1 yr and can only be reset by the kawasaki proprietary software. It can't be turned off either. However, it won't impact the bikes performance, but the light will stay on unless you service by an authorised dealer. Not just any dealer, either. Seems like kawasaki is taking the European bike maker route. They can't be turned off either.
Hey bro. I'm curious to know. I hear that a service light comes on every time the oil needs to be changed, and this can only be reset by the dealer. Did you have anything like this? Eventually, i wanna service my own bike, and it seems i can't because the light will stay on.
There always is ways around turning lights on and off on bikes and cars I’ll be sure to check into it but I havnt gotten a light as of yet at 1100 miles
I just traded in my Vstrom 1000 for a Aprilia RS 457. Had the Vstrom for touring but that was not up my alley. Also no fun in the twisties. After a heart attack I really started thinking about what I love to do. So backroads and twisties are what I like. Also if I want a change of scenery I will put the Aprilia on the trailer and drive to a hotel in another part of the world. Can’t wait to receive the little beast, just one week to wait.
I ended up buying one here in Australia (45hp unlike the 51hp 🤬). I'm watching all your videos and more whilst I wait for delivery. (Now time is going so sloooooowly lol(
It's because of regulations. In Europe you have 4 licenses, AM for mopeds (50cc), A1 for smaller bikes (125cc), A2 for bikes with restrictions of 35kW/48hp and A for unrestricted. I don't know if that's the case in Australia, but I would guess it is
Fk what anyone says to you. You ride the bike YOU WANT AND FEEL SAFE ON!!! Who cares about other people and their opinions 👍 Stay rubber side down from Melbourne Australia
@@Pstreetz Why would you answer that? For all we know that could be a member of a gang of thieves that goes around and steal bikes... don't answer stupid questions in youtube comments. @@Pstreetz Word bro, im from Jersey, they just tried to steal my R1 in my apartment complex last spring. Luckily I was staying up late drinking my gin and looked out my front window at 2:00 am, and they saw me and got scared and took off. Theres some bad people out there. Keep her locked up.

whats the best high-end exhaust for the 500? price should be around 400 max. btw would yaöl say that a 6'1-2" 200lbs guy would fit on the ninja? Edit: Where are your mirrors and windshield from?
@@sid38743 not sure what you’ll be able to get at that price high end exhaust for this bike are in the 600- 1200$ range I’m 6” at 170 pounds and the bike fits me great and the mirrors are from Amazon
I have a ninja 500 but after owning 2 f4i and a zx9r with loud shorty cans i dont want a loud daily that wakes up my neighbors. Would you consider this more tame than a leo vince or toce * if i spelled that correctly lol
What a lot of new riders and some seasoned street riders do not realize is most 'track focused' sport bikes over 600cc are not that comfortable for the streets, don't get good gas mileage, high insurance and higher maintenance costs. Also those bikes are meant to be wrung out to really enjoy them. If you do that on the streets, you are definitely doing triple digit speeds. And flirting with death & destruction👹
I love my ninja 500 and your video is amazing. Loving the authenticity and speaking your truth. I just did my first Break In oil change. Praying everything was done correctly
@@sid38743 USA our regulation very from state to state but as of exhaust as long as it passes emissions regulations it’s good and even there is some people who still get away with it not very strict over here
@@Pstreetz Okay! I'm kinda struggling to pick between the cbr500r, ninja 500 SE and rs 457, but I've narrowed it down to only the cbr and ninja. Which one would you get, and why?
@@sid38743 I will be making a video on the 500 class soon but in my opinion if you want power and cheaper parts go Kawasaki if you want quality parts and more tech/ergonomics go for Honda , Honda will be a bit less HP the ninja has the most I believe in this class at 52HP
