I love seeing this thicker ankle bangle! The extra weight and thickness is lovely to see, it reminds me of a few similar rings/bangles I have seen in some animes like Magi :)
Yeah, me too, i loved the look of it. It was digging in at the front of my leg at the bottom. It wasn’t too bad if i bunched up a long sock below it. It weighed 2 pounds. I have enough metal to try another one, maybe if i tried to get the shape better? The thick ankle ring (I like how you called it that) is so much more comfortable
@mule5267 I think it's a great width, and going woder could be an option . . . But it may have to be a bit bigger on the inside because it will start touching your upper forearm first before the wrist. The size you have now is wonderful, and I may have to share a cleaning secret to help you with that potential issue over time.
Yeah, I’ll probably just leave it. I feel it is perfect. When i first put this one on it seemed too wide but i got used to the width after a while. You are right though, any wider and it will by forced up my forearm more, it already leaves a tiny bit of a dent on the underside of my forearm. My wrist cuff has a bit of a snug fit which i like so I don’t want to go to a looser cuff to go wider. Yeah any cleaning tips would be great! Thanks.
No problems yet, it does seem a bit tighter than my old one which is good for an ankle then it sits high at the narrowest part of may ankle and doesn’t fall down to my ankle bone, that seems to be the key for it to be comfortable, its also very rounded, so that helps
I was actually going to put it on my left ankle and leave the thinner one on my right but having both ankles permanently cuffed along with my wrist is a bit too much for me, but maybe someday
No, i haven't been through a metal detector yet, I rarely do things that I need to. i'm sure it could cause a problem but i think as long as it isn't seen as a weapon should be ok.
@@mule5267 if you do have to go through metal detectors just warn the guard before you go through it that you will set it off, show the cuff and say it can’t be removed. They should have procedures (I.e. a pat down) to deal with such things.
@@mule5267 I wore irremovable metal decor for several years and it never caused problems, I just ensured that security guards weren’t taken by surprise by alarms going off. Only once were they slightly grumpy about it, this is in Europe, but it didn’t create any issues.
Yeah, good to know. My wrist cuff is quite heavy so what kinda worries me is that they might see it as a weapon because if i hit someone over the head with it it could seriously hurt someone, but i doubt they would think that much about it, besides they wouldn’t be able to tell how heavy it is since I can’t take it off, only i know how heavy it is.
Yeah, I'm in Canada so me doing the closing isn't really practical anyway. i don't have much free time lately but if you are serious we could work something out and I could ship it to you after I make it. So you like the thick bangle style that I have around my ankle but you want one for your wrist? Or do you prefer the wider cuff style that i have around my own wrist? There are pros and cons to each i guess.
Looks rather nice, though those ends are bit OCD inducing. How does it feel when walking around, looks as if its a bit loose, does it jump around? neat video
thanks, yeah, the ends could be better, i may work on that. I'd like it if they met up better and touched. It feels pretty good when walking, it does move a little but not too much. I think it looks looser than it really is because it is so thick, but i could close it a bit tighter if I opened up the gap a bit which I may do to clean up the ends.
i would kinda like to try and take it off but I'm a bit scared to, i dont even think i would be able to get it off but i havent really tried. But if it did come off it may not go back on especially if it was off for any length of time. i'm worried if I start screwing with it and irritate my thumb it could swell and cause problems, maybe best to just leave it alone
This sounds like a fun new project! Bending it should be a challenge but I know you'll figure it out! Anxious to see the final product in place as I'm sure you are too!
i've been able to bend it with heat, red hot with a torch. The bends are not as nice as I would like them to be. I would like smoother bends but mine are a little choppy. I'm still going ahead with it though!
I wish I could commission cuffs or rings made by you someday and I love to see it on you in your videos. It's a pity the ankle cuff had to come off but, hey, you've had the experience! I can't imagine your wrist cuff causing more than a quick Q&A with the airport security people. Yeah, at least I tried the ankle cuff, it was fun anyway! The airport should go OK, i"m just nervous about it i guess. As long as it doesn't have to be removed, I'm sure they have seen everything.

Thanks, yeah I'm a bit sad about the ankle cuff, I loved the look of it but in the end it just wasn't nearly comfortable enough for wearing 24/7. I love how my wrist cuff is so extreme looking (to me anyway) the width makes it look so huge in the mirror, I still can"t get over that! But I feel less is more lately so if its extreme I really just want one permanent metal cuff on my body. i still have my rope cuff on my other ankle, it's so much more comfortable. where do you live?

Perhaps you could build up to wearing one like it and making another more comfortable one. The wrist cuff is so amazing to look at and I love the width of it and I think it suits you well. you mentioned heavy steel rings above, like a heavy bangle? maybe that's a better idea for my ankle, a permanent ankle ring or bangle made from round stock, like maybe 1/2 inch diameter thick or even a bit thicker. that may be more comfortable. i used to wear an Axsmar one on my wrist along with other bracelets, you can catch a quick glimpse of it on my very first video about the rope cuffs, I even soldered a thinner copper bangle shut onto my wrist lol @@Lilshinobii0205

I meant to comment when you first posted, but I really appreciate your cuff fitting and making videos :) I was wondering how simple the process really is even though I have seen the previous updates and if it is financially better than buying wide steel cuffs from a manufacturer since I really want to have cuffs on somewhat 24/7 someday. I like the comments, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. It's not that hard to make them, the cutting the pipe at the start of it is the hardest part and opening the cuff after that id the tedious part. fitting the cuff on to yourself is the funnest and most exciting part of the whole thing and fairly easy. I prefer the extra width, i love the extreme look the width gives and the wieght. the ones you buy are very expensive but nice, they are only so wide though. i probably spent $100 on metal and another $100 on blades, polish, emery paper etc, I already had the saw and vice. thanks for the questions!
@@mule5267 Thank you for your reply! No worries. That doesn't sound that bad of a process and doing the whole stainless steel cutting and molding and fitting processes sound fun. I wonder if the method could be improved by making the cuffs be hinged and have an easier way to take it on/off though I know that's not the point. I love the extra width as well and the weight sounds very nice. Thank you again for all the details regarding the process! I'm open to talking about it more in the future :)
@@Lilshinobii0205 I think the hinge part would be extremely difficult to make and even harder to make it look good, and I just dont have to equipment to do that. I think the way I did it has a cleaner simpler look anyway and it was really the only way I could make the cuffs work and look good. The fact that I can't take them off without cutting them is an added bonus and makes them more extreme, I like that about them although sometimes i wish they just had a hinge and i could just simply take them off just for a bit and give myself a break from their constant grip. Its a weird feeling though as they start to feel like a part of you after a while. Not being able to remove them is kind of a cool thing because I can't "chicken out" and take it off for certain situations, it's just there, 24/7 like a tattoo.
@@mule5267 I know it would be difficult to make the hinges look good and I am not experienced yet with metal working so I sort of understand the difficulty of trying to make them. I wasn't criticizing the cuffs, I absolutely love them on you and they are awesome. That is an added bonus and the non-removal aspect of them without using machinery is an amazing aspect to them. I wish I could have my own 4" width Wonder-Woman like cuffs similar to your wrist and ankle cuffs, combined with other bracelet cuffs/collars so you are very much an inspiration to me. @@Lilshinobii0205 thanks for your comments. yes the way i did them was just the easiest way and the permanency of them was an added bonus but it could also be a problem if I ever hurt myself i guess. It's quite a rush closing the cuff shut around your own limb knowing it's not coming off easy and it's part of you! I love the extremeness of the whole thing really. A 4 inch cuff may have to be tapered because of the shape of the arm or a lot looser than mine is, I like a bit of a snug fit. I was thinking of maybe doing a 3 inch one for my ankle but that may just be too heavy.
