An amazing actor and person. And that speech his wife gave....how to say "Fuck you Guiding Light and CBS" without saying "Fuck you Guiding Light and CBS". The writers actually wanted to write Roger as having the disease and have Holly take care of him, kind of a full circle moment, but weren't allowed. Thankfully OLTL was run by human beings with compassion that recognized Michael's worth. I never forgave GL for that .
Cool great day show cool Rosie Dr Marlena Adams i love both of them together Rosie o Donnell and Deidre hill in this show her looks cute love them together in this video
Annie Dutton is unforgettable! Even on a show richly packed with naughty divas like Dinah Marler, outright villains like Alan and Alex Spaulding, and in the looming shadow of the sadly passed king of them all, the T-Rex of antagonism, Michael Zaslow's Roger Thorpe, Cynthia Watros managed to craft a truly outstanding hurricane of drama. There are many tempests in her teacup, and they're delicious. Annie Dutton forever! ❤GL
Eileen should've won that year! Her performance of the evil, conniving Kristen was so brilliant and so convincing, she owned that role. At least ED won years later, but her performance that year was bar none!!
I have a theory on this year's Emmys here. KZ wasn't thought of to be a serious contender. But Susan Flannery submitted a bad second tape that did not relate to the heart attack story. Furthermore, this was for the year Cassie died on Y&R and Sharon Case was snubbed. Even Stafford took her name out that year. I can imagine when Flannery lost to KZ she ticked off supporters who replaced her with Maura in the CBS voting block.
When you see that entire cast up on that stage, it makes you really appreciate this show more. I'm still angry how they trashed it in the last few years by cutting the funding but the writers did their best to give viewers a proper ending during the last episode. I do hold onto hope though that one day, CBS can eliminate the talk shows and get a new soap opera that can somehow bring back characters from GL and also ATWT. Write the show in a way that the characters can be connected to the two remaining soaps we still have so it opens the doors for crossover characters. Newman Oil for example could invest in a new, large operation in a new town which attracts others as job opportunities arise. Lauren Fenmore from Genoa City could open a boutique...Barbara and Carly from ATWT take on management of said boutique...Jack takes a position within the police dept in the new town. Utilize a story that can evolve as the characters adjust to their new lives and new challenges as they literally build a new town.
I love Kim so much she could read the phone book and I'd watch and it would probably be fabulous television. I loved the first time she won an Emmy and had her hair spiked and threw her shoes in the air when she got onstage and everyone was screaming! God bless the 80s!
