Superb trip you had! What a truly memorable and interesting adventure to have together, some of the scenery was incredible on the video, love how it's not all about the riding, off exploring on foot too. Respect.
I rode from NC to Prudhoe Bay round trip two summers ago solo. Made a few friends on the way. It was amazing. Doing a trip like this with friends should bond you for life. Are you three still friends? Still ride together?
I did the full TAT at age 62 with a friend in 2019. Survived with bumps and bruises but no broken bones thank God, cause people do. The TAT is no joke. We modified Yamaha WR250Rs. You may want that smaller lighter bike and get in shape, wear all the right equipment cause you’re going to take some spills. The TAT is truly an awesome trip, one that you will never forget and when you reach the west coast it’s an unbelievable sense of accomplishment.
I have to imagine the hardest part of making a video like this is the editing. What do I cut out? What stays in? How do I keep this under 2 hours. Good job, y'all.
Yeah a little but in general we avoided highways as much as possible. Loaded with gear and off road tires we usually kept all 3 bikes around 55 - 60 mph
Looks like a great trip. I'd love to do that some day. As a viewer of the video....voice-overs of what is happening and where you are is much more pleasing to listen to than that horrible "free youtube music".
Ce paradis sur notre Terre va pourtant disparaître sous la chaleur mortifère générée par la surnatalité et le désordre suicidaire de l'activité humaine... Intervention urgente est demandée à la base Ummite du Chili.
You will meet people along the way. We bumped into a couple riding solo. It's very doable. but for safety reasons I think its best to be with at least 1 other person.
There were only a couple spots that were really stressful but otherwise we planned accordingly. We brought spare fuel bags with use to fill up with extra fuel just in case but never needed them. Just make sure to look at the GPS for fuel stations and read forums on certain sections
I’m about to get a klx250 or 300, I live in New Mexico but my families having a reunion in the smoky mountains, Tennessee I think I want follow my parents and my 2 golden retrievers on my klx 250 it’s about an 18 hour drive for us so we’re gonna split it up into 2 trips but I think it’ll be a lot of fun
Wow what a great trip what great editing always I think a lot of us would know about issues with bike how long chains last flat tires little things like that but fantastic video thanks
Some how we didnt get a single flat...but we did have a lot of other issues. But nothing we could solve. Make sure to bring spare parts for items that would be hard to find....i.e. Brake lines, extra clutch / brake lever,...make sure to have lots of protection on components that you dont want to fail also.
Could i get your trip plan and route plan? Looks like you didn’t exactly follow the trans America trail especially at the end. I like your trail better!
We followed the GPSKevin routes until Utah then we felt it was just too much trail riding and we were missing some great parts of the US. So from there we did White Rim Trail, Salt Flats, Crater Lake , and Redwood national forest. I think it made it much more enjoyable.
Several breakdowns lol but no flats. We had brake lines break, engine case crack, electrical failures, broken headlight, brake level break...but just be prepared and have spare parts. Pick bikes that are simple and easy to repair roadside.
