If that box is big enough, this has meaningfully use for a two way interaction between a teacher and students living in a rural area, devoid of access to physical education.
I think is a great use of the product, as they are talking about AI it makes me think the product would be also good for hosting virtual humans/characters for people to interact with
@@al201103 exactly! But at the beginning when the camera is at an angle and Shatner first “beams in”, he looks flat. From this demo it looks like the Proto Hologram is just a 4K screen and not a holographic projection.
@@tjmb Some of them are supposed to be stereo. It's really just a TV turned sideways, that's all it is. Lightfield Lab, Looking Glass Factory and Leia are the big players in volumetric displays, these people literally just turned a TV sideways and put it on a white box.
Do you notice the giant bezel? just STFU. It's also a video feed into the display device. Now if it really is more of a holographic reconstruction? That would be pointless to present on film
0:08 it doesn't hold up to a 45* angle. so if you were to holographicly effect space for thousands of cameras capturing it.. this ain't it chief. please just go home
Thanks for the feedback. The difference is one looks like a screen with a camera and Proto makes it look and feel like the person is actually in the room with you. And that means something for doctors and teachers for example.
How is this any different than having a tv with a camera on top of it ? I mean my laptop with wireless keyboard and mouse is hooked up to my 55 inch tv so my computer screen is actually my tv screen, and with the build in camera on my laptop, it's exactly the same thing. With zoom or skype you can be all over the world. I don't see this succeeding. But hey good luck
What an exciting future!! Amazing. Can't wait til it's a whole room in our house! Art, visual therapy, tailored AI education for all fields....... Just.... Bravo!
