Ok what river restoration? I just heard a truly sad story in this video, and I get it. I feel bad for the destruction caused by dams. But the click bait was river restoration… I blocked this channel.
I live by the Flint river in Michigan. Yes its called the Flint river, hence the city of Flint. Thank goodness for conservation, kayak, boating, fishing, swimming, picnics its beautiful
I love you, you think the river you live by started in East Point Ga just south of Atlanta. Did you even watch this, or has climate change affected you?
The power companies are responsible for the destruction of the salmon population and the failure to compensate the Eklutna people for 90 years of wealth they stole when building those dams. It is time they return the land to to its natural state. Tear down the dam and leave the area to nature and the Eklutna people.
NO ONE WANTS THIS THIS IS SOOOOO EVIL ALL PART OF BIDENS AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL REWILDING ZONES WITH NO PEOPLE. PROFIT OVER PEOPLE HOW WILL THIS AFFECT PEOPLE DID YOU STOP CARING ABOUT PEOPLE!!!!!! ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS BUILD SAMON LADDERS!!! THEY CHOSE NOT TO
This is inspiring, no doubt, and they are civil rights heroes, but here is my question. What does this have to do with The Conservation Fund and its mission statement? Were these panelists paid for this forum and how much? In other words how much money is being spent on celebrating civil rights and NOT to preserving nature and our environment? Please respond - a large amount of money rests on your answer. Thank you
Through our Civil Rights People and Places initiative, we are working with a coalition of diverse partners, stakeholders and supporters in cities and rural communities across Alabama’s Black Belt to protect important Civil Rights sites, share the area’s history, and find opportunities for economic growth. Sustainable? They totally destroyed that river's natural flow and fauna with their "Sustainable" hydroelectric dam. I'd rather keep building better filtration systems/processing techniques for natural gas manufacturing. Let's not destroy our waterways and pretend like that's somehow an acceptable alternative. If anything, that's worse.
Still the main issue remains unadressed. When he says that removing the hydroelectric dam would require to replace it with a fossil fuel power plant, he is wrong. We only have to do it IF we continue to consume that much energy. One day people will realize that there's too many of us, and they will have less children. But most people aren't ready to admit it despite the obvious. Meanwhile the human population worldwide is expected to double in the next 50 years. It's already a big issue now, how do you think the planet will react to twice as many humans?
Can someone tell your native people, that the restoration of a river nowadays, is not primary done, for the fact, that they don't wanna spend money on food, and that's why they were crying the last 100 years, for every river that disappeared in use for Dams😉😅🤣 And their " Holly Salmon". But hey, I'll stuck a round fire water for all of them 👍😁🤣🤣
Sure, all you far-left wokesters are out DEMANDING everyone switch to electric vehicles, lawn equipment, heat, etc, yet you'll go out of your way to TEAR DOWN the very systems that will GENERATE that electricity. What a bunch of farking geniuses... NOT!!! Just wait until your boneheaded schemes cause the electrical infrastructure to CRASH on a daily basis. Hope you're the ones to get the week-long blackouts first. You think your wind and solar will generate enough? HA!! Solar won't be working because there's a serious lack of light coming from your vicinity, and the windmills won't do enough unless you fart at them (or stand underneath them and make your typical speeches, as that will generate large volumes of hot air).
This feels like a luxury belief. It is easy to complain about hydropower and drinking water when you have water to drink and power to keep it from freezing in the tap. I would ask the pioneer generation if they thought that tearing down infrastructure represented a step forward or a step back? What about the workers of today who make modern life possible? The goal here is not to tear down an already-defunct dam, but to convince the audience that the environmental preferences of people who probably do not work in industrial sectors should take precedence over drinking water and electricity. Find a cheap, carbon-neutral alternative, or stop trying to destroy the infrastructure you benefit from.
Oil/power companies come in and give them a few bucks and they don't know they sold away their land's sole. Still happening and residents are happy with their couple thousand dollars a year.
Only provides 3% of the local grid's power?! Why is there even a discussion, get that 3% from somewhere else. Heck, work to improve the rest of the grid's efficiency to cover that 3%! And, do off channel storage for the water it supplies.
We took the damn off of the dowagiac Creek at pucker st in Niles Michigan and it's going to be a primer trout stream. It was before but it's going to be better.
What a time we are in. Trying to shut down electrical power generators while we try and switch all of our vehicles to electricity, and deny nuclear power plants at the same time as well. I hope there's enough cobalt to go around for everybody. Probably not likely.
How can you guys be reached I've been trying to call the number on the website. And sent a email. I adore you guys so much. 💓 my family are dispatched farmers trying to get support as we continue to help the economy in Geogria and Alabama with my nonprofit. I pray we find each other. Thank you for your vision. 💜🙏🏾
Perhaps the white nationalists in your country who came from my country Scotland as well all Europe should remember that they are strangers to these lands. It is the native people who are the true Americans and not the white racists that get so much press in your country.
