I have a 1929 model a. My front springs are nearly completely compressed when sitting. It has a stock 302 engine. Any idea what weight front suspension springs you'd recommend?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out and choosing QA1! Unfortunately due to the ever changing requirements in all the different countries we are unable to provide any certificates of conformity or material specs.
I remember calling about kit for 3/4 ton trucks 8 years ago ! Your fabricator dude laughed at me on the phone and said it would never happen cause everyones converting C20/C30's to C10s and there was not enough demand to warrant a kit . Gee I wonder what changed ! Might I add that these will work on 64-66 Trucks as well . Just need to swap the cross shafts out depending on your Crossshaft factory set up . some had earlier 4 bolt crosshafts while some add the ubolt and locating pin shafts .
a friend of mine has a crown vic front end in a 36 chevy will these be ok in it . its way to stiff with the stock springs it has stopped him from driving the car now
Hey there! WE do not catalog a direct fit at this time, but could potentially offer a shock setup depending on the specs of the build. Please reach out to our tech team at 952-985-5675 or Sales@QA1.net for recommendations. They are available M-F 9am-5pm CST.
So Alex, I’m watching Kye Kelly’s RU-vid video of the NPK’s race in Virginia and I saw your sister and the guy (can’t think of his name) from Isky there. Were you there, your dad, the 55? Are yall considering NPK RACING?
Excellent brand, I really congratulate you, there are many companies but. This is very good, it has aesthetics and the piece does the job, I congratulate you QA-1🎉
I have a 1968 Ford Torino 390 4 speed. I bought the car new and always liked the car setting higher than stock. At one time I used ball joint spacer blocks to help improve the front height. I used Delco air shocks on the rear which are still working, believe it or not. They have lasted a long time. Stock leaf springs on the rear and one Spring Spacer or Knuckle Buster as they call them on each side of the front. Could I replace all the old stuff with coil over shocks and springs while keeping the car setting a little higher than stock? Pretty much a driver now.
You'll have more of a dramatic change in ride / quality handling with different spring rates. Example old S13 had 18k/16k spring rates. Uncomfortable at 35mph and below. 55mph plus road better and handled better. On my 79 impala, compressing 550lb springs had absolutely no difference in quality or handling. Which why I'm looking for something more than 750lb springs offered.
To Alex’s dad great job showing her the ropes . As a dad of two girls I always told them anything is possible for you today. It is wonderful to hear someone speak with proper grammar . As a 70+ year old gear head It is embarrassing to hear most of the people on the car shows talk . Thank you Alex for how well you represent us.
Anyone have any idea why the QA1 motor mounts for my LS2 won't line up in my 65 c10 I had a shop do the QAI front and rear suspension, can't get the mounts bolted to the block I used carriage bolts I bought appear to be hitting the engine block ? any suggestions,
Hey there! So we actually recommend a double adjustable shock setup for the rear of these trucks with the stock leaf springs. Check out part number TD804.
I put these on my 55 Chevy, along with the tubular control arms, front sway bar, and power front disk brakes. It now rides so much better than it did in its stock form.
I have an c30 Dooley I already have a lowered spindle and dropped coils 3 inches for each one, but I want to put some of your coil lovers upfront to get more drop. What size and rating should I get?
If this is a single cab truck and mainly being used for street driving, I would recommend part number 52619-S750 www.qa1.net/product/sku-52619-s750-front-coil-over-suspension-1967-1986-c20-1987-1991-r20-chevy-trucks-single-adjustable-750-lb-springs
