As much as he was a strong chef, I can’t help feeling that Josh beating Frank was perfect karma for the cowardly move to save himself in the final 6 for a shitty job leading especially when he would’ve been against David who was a poor cook who had already outstayed his welcome.
They totally set up josh to go home I believe they did this on purpose if you don't want a black American to win just don't pick them, I forget keep those ratings up we must pretend they have a chance
Frank’s sentiment and integrity reminds me of Luca’s in season 4. they both know that if someone is going home, it should be because they didn’t do well and not because they lacked an ingredient
It's so sad. I read the article about Josh and honestly it's like looking in a mirror. My boyfriend has schizophrenia and let me tell you that the system is BROKEN. It's exactly how it was for us. Him signing himself in but signing himself out 8 days later because someone decided that people in psychosis still have the ability to make decisions. Him promising to take his meds and then not doing it. Going back in over and over. And each time there was nothing I could do because they invented HIPAA laws that give no rights to the caregivers, even if it would help those who are afflicted. It sounds to me like Josh had Schizoaffective Disorder which is schizophrenia with a mood disorder (i.e. bipolar). It's particularly difficult to get under control because the only sure-fire meds for bipolar is lithium but you can't take it forever as it has a lot of bad side effects. And the meds they give for psychosis make you almost zombie-like. Furthermore, none of the meds stop the voices. They simply make it so that you can cope with them. But it doesn't take the problem away. You need therapy to deal with it and the system is really big on only giving you a certain number of therapy visits before they boot you to the curb. And yes, a lot of mentally ill people end up in jail. It's sad that it is easier to get a gun than it is to get help. People fall through the cracks all the time of the system and suicide is 3 times higher for people with schizophrenia than those without it. Not to mention that the vast majority of caregivers are not prepared for what happens. The vast majority of caregivers to people with bipolar and schizophrenia end up with mental illness themselves and anxiety disorders. It takes a community to help people like that and the laws are designed to get in the way of that. It's so important to raise awareness about this and to fight the government to get the help people need. I hope Josh found peace but I'm so sad for his family and for all the people who loved and cared for him.
She had an assistant there that babysat her through the entire steps. She would have had no idea if the pie was ready or not, but she had the assistant there to tell her that it was done. Also the pie looked horrendous. In competitions plates need to be judged of visuals too. She abused her blindness to get ahead of the competition, using aids to guide her through the cooking and chefs that didnt seem to care about the visuals since she couldnt see either. I think that it was rigged and that she really shouldnt be considered a "master chef" if she cant get visuals or temps right
When you’re blind, your senses are heightened and you need to be 10 steps ahead all the time especially in a competition. She had an aid because she was not familiar with the space.
She had someone telling her when the food was done. Idk even when you are blind, if you have people doing stuff for you in a COMPETITION then you are cheating.
Josh and christine desrved to be in the top 2 finale, Becky learn to be happy for others, crying BOOHOO to the judges after they tasted your dish, did you really think that would persuade the judges to feel sorry for you and look the other way, didn't work, glad you were not in the finale, because you always thought the other contestants were beneath you, having a meltdown because you didn't win the mystery box challenge says a lot about you, and who you are.
Becky you can't handle criticism, you love when the judges praise you, but you cry BOOHOO when they don't praise you, you hate any contestant who's dish is better than yours, you roll your eyes at them, you can't handle not being in the top 3, your never happy for any other contestants, that is your downfall.
Neither Clemenza nor Robyn have what it takes. Clemenza makes food that has not been ordered, cant cook a scallop to save his life and Robyn fafs around achieving nothing and cant get dressing on a salad!! Season 10 winner!! - she's full of shit
Christine did an absolutely amazing job in this episode, but admittedly, I have to give deserving credits to Felix as well. She was losing communication at first but overtime she gained insane momentum to turn a weaker team into a stronger one.
The way Gordon encourages Christine to have more confidence in herself is heartwarming. 🙂 Gordon is famous for his unforgiving criticism, but he also gives constructive advice and encouragement to contestants. He has done that throughout the series.
Fyi, Monti. Fish sauce was made from small fishes (most likely anchovies), which was fermented for a long time, then the liquid was extracted and voila! You got fish sauce, which will have a strong smell and flavour that can throw some people off.
