Hey, welcome, I'm a bus & train enthusiast from Edinburgh, Scotland. I film a variety of bus and train related videos such as onboard videos and depot tours, bus/trains at many different locations and more! Videos release every Friday at 5pm UK time. Bonus videos release on Tuesday at 12:30pm UK time
The announcements are rubbish on these. 1. -Voiced by robot- have heard conflicting info on this but it sounds like a robot to me. the folks at railforums think so anyway 2a. Looooong announcements: can keep going for a few seconds even after the stop has already passed (rendering them nearly pointless). 2b. If you're listening out for connections you will have already flown past the relevant stop, which defeats the point, as it misleads people who aren't local (who will be listening out for connections) 3. The last two points are worse than not having announcements at all imo and also results in non-stop stop (hah) announcements which will drive passengers mad 4. On the screens themselves, the font isn't Lato and looks out of place. Also, small text. 5. Poor driver has to deal with it for the entire day.
@@BlazeClone They already had most of the voice lines they would've needed though, only additional things they'd need to record would be things like the diversion warning and the "X minutes to" callout. The robot isn't that bad though, I'm more bothered about the graphics looking very cheap/out of line with the Lothian brand
Its not exclusive as they also run peak time runs such as this one and occasionally run other routes but essentially its because the 10 operates on spare buses, and 926-930 serve as the main spare buses at the moment. 931-936 are operated by lothian country, with the exception of 932 due to it being deroofed not too long ago hope this helps
I drove these when brand new, they were horrendously slow and particularly dangerous at Hardengreen Roundabout as they had been screwed down to be even more economical. Shame the timetable wasn't adjusted to match their pedestrian performance compared to the other B7RLEs, 5 hours on the 49 on a Sunday was hell. They fitted a heater under the drivers seat making it too high for most drivers and all the seats were recycled leather (if I remember rightly) so the interior had a weird smell. The 11-plate B9TL were also screwed down when new. Its possible that the new regime at LB has returned them to standard performance settings.
Nice video, if you can this year I'd highly recommend going to Exeter Devon since it's a nice place to film buses though I'd highly understand if you can't since it's far away.
Oh she’s sounds good 21 years old and she sounds fantastic god I miss hearing these roar around Edinburgh glad dart 61 is in preservation with the Scottish vintage bus museum good video dude I like it
@@callumdelaney7884 Arriva moquette with a Scottish vintage bus museum livery isn't really preserved... At the events its mainly used for shuttles, since it has the event branding
@@BlazeClone This bus was new to Lothian Buses plc as 61 with maroon route branding for service 22 (Gyle Centre - Ocean Terminal). The original 75 (SK52 OJV) was destroyed by a fire when it was 6 months old, so a replacement 75 (SN53 JNO) was added to Lothian's 53 plate order. The second SK52 Dart destroyed by a fire in 2007 was 69 (SK52 OJO).
they arent Enviro400mmc seats, those are lazzerini practico high back seats, lothian fit them to gemini 3s and mcv evoras. they are slightly newer E300s (2015) so they got fitted with the beachball style leather seats
@@StagecoachHumberflyer250 They clearly didnt? thats why these enviro 300s have them. As well many other companies have bought them on different buses, stagecoach happen to buy a lot from ADL
I’m pretty sure that the 49 won’t be back. Best case scenario is that the 46 gets increased to every 20 mins, which given the fact the 48 probably needs that already I can see happening to the 46 at the same time.
